If you care to scroll back you’ll realise I tried with the debate….I posed a question, to which they didn’t reply.

They logged off, then back on, added a post to a different thread and completely ignored my question.

    I was online, I saw them .

That as far as I’m concerned, deserves to be called an idiot, besides the fact that they insinuated I knew nothing about terminally ill, when I ‘d clearly stated I’d been through it  with both my parents.

Just out of curiosity…..what would you call that sort of behaviour?

I’d call it taking the p.

They’ve done it before on other threads.

I find it rather distasteful it being on this thread though.

As far as I’m concerned, this is a serious thread, though posts don’t have to be as heavy as the topic. Sometimes humour is appropriate in the darkest of situations – if anyone finds that offensive, then just turn a blind eye, which is what most of us have to do here form time to time. From what I can see, everybody here is aware of how serious the topic is.

I really don’t know how I would react if I were terminally ill, to be honest, and I don’t think any of us really know, either. At the moment, I’m fit and in good health. I may specualte that when things turn bad I would want my life to be ended. At a certain point, I may agree that if things get worse, it should be ended.

But when things do get worse, who is to say what my decision would be? As Cosy injects the water bubble into my veins, from the kindness of his heart, how would I be able to communicate that yes things are pretty bad but really I’m not wanting to go yet.

My guess is that the suffering of a terminally ill patient distresses the relatives so much that they decide that it’s in the best interests of all to end it. They could well be right.

But in the end – I don’t know.

You find it silly, childish even?

I did happen to be online at the moment .. and did see it happening, so why not type it?

I found it cowardly on her/his behalf..but hey, that’s just me; maybe others don’t see what I saw in her/his posts, as it wasn’t directed at them.

I apologise for being simple & honest.

I remember you mentioning  this to me when I was going through my mother’s illness and subsequent death.

I cannot see any humour in suffering and death.

It’s beyond any logic and train of thought to me.

I want to take this a step further.

I’ve never seen you use this sort of humour when discussing migrants and dead toddlers being washed up on shores ; infact I recall you criticising ( rightly), someone who happened to humour that very sitauation.
Is there a difference between that situation and the topic at hand?
