I’d like to live on the Isle of Wight………….preferably on a house boat.
11 May, 2012 at 5:50 am #496076Well, as most of you know, I have ‘moved’ to ‘rural’ SW France – wouldn’t move to another ‘city’, even if ya paid me! lol
However, having said that, it was minus 17 degrees for a few days, but, it has made up for it in the last few – latest temp reading was +48 yesterday, and I am NOT complaining!

Now that has caught your attention –
Would you move abroad (and work) or stay in the fair Isles (or in Kays case – the ghettos of Kent) ?
Did live abroad a couple of times and bloody loved it. Think it’s ok when you’re younger, when you start getting a little long in the tooth it doesn’t seem to have the same draw. If I lived away from England now it would probably be Southern Spain only.

12 May, 2012 at 8:51 am #496081Why move to stay in one place – Why not travel all over in a camper van or sail the oceans in a yacht?

A friend of mine has celebrated her 60th birthday by retiring, buying a camper van that she got modified for her own needs, got her dog’s shots and pet passport, and got the ferry to France just last week. She has a hit list of countries that she wants to visit, friends that she wants to visit, but other than that she’s just going where the mood takes her.
Everyone says she’s brave, she just says “I’ve waited 60 years to do this.” :D
12 May, 2012 at 9:33 am #496083Actually Jen some friends of mine did the same thing….. they took their small children with them too! I wish I were brave enough…. Im not though, also I like my home comforts and somewhere to plug in the hair dryer :D

I’m thinking of doing this myself, for a while, but I think I’d better do a trial run for a few weeks one summer with someone who knows . . .
