Mary,
That was absolutely lovely, and really appreciated by us all. I’ve managed the stiff British upper lip until that post, but its made me cry. The messages and support we have had from everybody on this site has been fantastic. Thank you to everyone who posted messages, we have printed them off and put them in his memory box, and they are helping a great deal. The funeral (despite the weather and the traffic) went really really well and was standing room only at the service. People from as far as Cornwall travelled up.
Just wanted to say thank you to all that came from this site, including the lady who travelled by coach to get here. It was really touching. I’m sorry I didn’t get round to seeing you all, but my Dad, Brother (both called Jim lol) and Grandma June, appreciated it, and helped to make a tough day easier.
He had fought prostate cancer, and the donation boxes for MacMillan and Marie Curie were full so were are pleased something positive has happened from a sad time. He would have been absolutely over the moon by all of the support and kind words, and please don’t underestimate how grateful we are for all your support. This is a lovely site.
I hope you all had a lovely Valentines day.
Warm Wishes

I was so lucky to have met Woodie a few times in meets, and I have yet to meet a finer gentleman than him.
He had a wonderful outlook on life and carried a smile on his face that warmed everyone that met him, and his laughter and sense of fun will always be with me.
You will be missed my friend, and thank you for allowing me to share part of your life and finding a friend.
I will miss you Woodie all my love and hugs x Tina :(
16 February, 2014 at 10:54 am #521549Thank you Laura for your lovely post too, touched my heart again and made me cry, “Soulbabe” as she is known in here was the lady who travelled on the coach to your Grandad’s funeral, she told me all about it on Friday night and said what a lovely service it was and afterwards listening to all the lovely stories about your Grandad. Just goes to show how well respected “Woodie” was and very much loved by so many and will never be forgotten. Glad to hear that all the lovely messages everyone has left has been comforting to you and your family and l wish you all the very best for the future. Thinking of you all and send you lots of love and hugs.
