    I’VE GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!

and not just ANY job!!! I’ll finally be working in that rarity of companies – a recruitment company that doesn’t treat staff like sh*t!

I will be recruiting interim and permanent managers in the food industry, in a fantastic independent recruitment company that has been going from strength to strength over the last 5 years, where

we all get to contribute to decisions about changes etc,

and with a very good chance of getting promoted within a year (though I’m not naive enough to not take those things with a pinch of salt, even on this occasion!),

for the same salary that I am on now, but without the commute (the office is 5 mins drive from home, so I will save over £2k per year!!!)

and just as icing on the cake, I get to do exactly what I hoped I would, which is to keep stumm about this for a week, then go to the company conference on Saturday 10th, drink free booze until 3am, have a fab time, and go back to the office on the Monday and resign

    Thanks Gemz – I can’t stop grinning!!!!

I’m finally getting my life back…hubby & kids are delighted, they’ll finally see me for more than half an hour a day!

    I’m not kidding

In my current job, I commute 50 miles each way, which isn’t really that far, but I have to drive all the way across Leeds and invariably hit some amount of traffic, so it takes me an hour and a half on average.

I usually get up at 5am, set off at 6.30, get to work just before 8am, and often don’t leave until 7 or 8pm, getting home an hour and a half later.

I never see my kids in the mornings apart from Thursdays, when I have a 9.30 start, and in the evening, I often get home after they’ve gone to bed, or just have time to see them off…if I’m really lucky, I get to have dinner with them! It’s been a bit better lately, because I’ve tried very hard to leave earlier, knowing I was hopefully leaving soon anyway, so if I didn’t get everything done it wouldn’t matter quite so much.
