But did Schofield check his facts or did he just take the list off the Internet… its there its printed so it must be true…. if that’s the case yes he is accountable especially if those names were visible for all to see.

You cant have it both ways… on one hand say anyone can print anything then say its OK for a presenter to use that same information as fact on a high profile TV show

it was mentioned on the early evening news about possible legal action against philip schofield

They might even replace him if push comes to shove. :)

arrogance comes at a price and it has been well documented how arrogant mr schofield can be

The names are on the internet. They are therefore, in the public domain. I don’t see that Philip Schofield did anything wrong.

What this does highlight is that the internet is an uncontrollable beast and anyone can post anything whether it is fact or fiction.

That’s the real issue here for me, not Philip Schofield’s actions.

does arrogance give you the right to do what you want and how you want to do it?

I didn’t see the interview but I could set a website up right now and accuse anyone famous of anything. Who can stop me? By the time the site is ordered to be taken down it would have gone viral and the damage would already have been done to people’s reputations.

As I said, the internet is uncontrollable.

There is a whole team of people decide what content goes into a show especially one that has a live PM interview…. it would be more likely one of the producers would become the fall guy… Schofield is just the presenter.

Schofield did it live on tv, that’s the difference.

Were the producers of the programme aware of what schofield was going to do? I’ve looked on the BBC report and there was nothing documented.

Do more people watch live TV than use the internet?

I don’t know but they are both media outputs and the list appearing on one media does not mean it cannot appear on another.

The programme researchers will have found those names…. there will have been a meeting to discuss if they would use them and if so to greatest effect,

I love it when the reasons that you start a thread are completely missed…

David Cameron is a bit thick and we already know that. I’m more interested in Schofield sharing an overnight cell with some 15 stone homosexual.
