Newcastle have agreed compensation with Leeds for Dennis Wise to join up with Kevin Keegan. Don’t know what his role will be at the club but it looks to be a bit of a blow for Leeds in their chase for promotion.

28 January, 2008 at 8:43 pm #307610Good riddances to bad rubbish. When will northern clubs learn not to take on London managers.
28 January, 2008 at 10:52 pm #307611Seemingly he’s taking on one of these stupid pretend jobs that are actually just created to make folk feel important even though nobody knows what it actually is.

29 January, 2008 at 5:33 am #307614will they get gordon strachan too ?
that team could dominate basketball for years
29 January, 2008 at 6:25 pm #307615He’s not been the same since Eric Morecombe died.
30 January, 2008 at 8:36 am #307616Well, despite the very decent job he did, I don’t think Dennis Wise went beyond the realms of mere “tolerance” and “acceptance” from the Leeds faithful. In saying that, I wish him well on his trip to the lazy, underachieving retirement home that is Newcastle Utd  .
Superb to see Gary Mac back though.. he deserves a chance.. though the fancy footy he likes to play may not shine strong in League One  .
Still.. Great to have him.. Hopefully it works out :) .
30 January, 2008 at 9:14 am #307617Gary Mac will be welcomed with open arms at Leeds. He did the team proud as a player in the 90’s and went on to be outstanding for both Liverpool, Coventry and Scotland. His heart will be in this job 110% unlike Wisey.
I never liked Dennis Wise as a person or a player and was highly sceptical at his appointment (along with many/most Leeds fans). I credit Gus Poyet with Leeds fantastic start to the season and as soon as he left things started falling apart. David Basset and Wisey was never going to work. We dont want “crazy gang” football at Leeds.
He has joined a club that is fast becoming the laughing stock of the premier league. I hope he becomes a laughing stock along with them. It’s all he deserves after walking out on Leeds like that…. even if I do feel it is by far the best thing that could have happened to the club. -
