Suffered for years with my wisdom tooth shazza (top one). Rubbing clove oil (about £2 a bottle from boots) really does help. I remember on my wedding day it started to act itself and I ws panicing as we were flying out on honeymoon the next day and I was worried it would spoil holiday. Only thing Boots would give me was clove oil and it was a godsend, didn’t take it away completely but did help.
Finally got it took out about 5 month ago. I wanted to be knocked out but for a different medical condition they couldn’t do it. So I had lots of gas and air 8) and had me ipod on. It took about 15 seconds start to finish and no pain afterwards. Can’t believe I suffered for so long.
Hope it doesn’t cause you too much jip before you can get it sorted xx
Thanks Dee, this is what I was after real experiences (and you chickenman lol).
I can feel its top and bottom on my right side that are causing the grief.
I want to be knocked out. I hate pain, and am a wimp. I will never ever understand how I gave birth for a second time!

I’ve stocked up on alcohol, so I will be sorted tonight,
You could put that money toward the dentist. Ok, that probably isn’t much help, as booze is cheaper than the dentist. Extacy might be another bet. You will feel like hugging everyone in sight, though, so better get a good mouth wash before you take it. I heard somewhere that extacy was invented by the Merck company in the 1920’s. Can you say kicking themselves they don’t have the patent now? Alternatively, you could try ecstasy, the natural kind. Get high on life. Reach a state of enlightenment through orgasm…although three weeks of that might be a bit difficult; depending on your man of course.
I hope you get it sorted soon, no matter your method.

Three weeks of sustained orgasm, you say? Worth having ones teeth kicked in for.
Sunneeeeeee..c’mere your footie team’s rubbish!
*Stands back and waits for Sunny to get a good run up with her docs for a kick in the Esme gnashers!*

5 September, 2008 at 7:51 pm #369810I still think you have developed an abscess.
Get to the dentist lass.. if you can’t afford it, am sure they will sort something for you. They can at least diagnose the problem and tell you how much it will cost to fix it!
5 September, 2008 at 8:10 pm #369811Thanks ….
dunno what to do, but I cant feel any abceses?
and the wine has kicked in now in the same way morphine does… cfrunk and subline….
its the breath and taste…. like mussels
5 September, 2008 at 8:22 pm #369812You wouldn’t be able to feel them.. would be just pressure pain and a bad taste in the mouth. The abscesses usually develop round the root of the tooth. Hurts like hell.
Feel sorry for you honey. Face ache isn’t nice.

would that be one tooth or side or my whole mouth? Ive tried to centralise the pain but cant.. other than coming from the back of my mouth.
But the pain reaches all over it?
god…. would NHS treat me or do I need a dentist, or is this one of those situations where they both go.. “its not out problem”…
Ive a walk in centre near….. should I go there tomorrow?
That was a silly question…
Ive not even started on the bbq and coke yet!
5 September, 2008 at 8:33 pm #369814If you can last till Monday try to.. it might cost you more at the weekend.
But maybe if you have an emergency GP you could try and see him for some antibiotics.
Then book an appointment asap to see a dentist.. if you can get an NHS one go there.
I should have said.. if you are in agony and you have an infected tooth, they won’t do anything till that is sorted anyway.
5 September, 2008 at 8:35 pm #369815do you really think then that I have an infection as well as just the teeth causing problem?
is it going to get really bad?5 September, 2008 at 8:39 pm #369816You are in pain and you have a bad taste. I am not a dentist Shaz, but it just sounds to me like you have an infection. You just need to go see someone who can help thats all. I doubt it will be that bad, you just need to get it diagnosed.
I am probably wrong because I haven’t seen your x-rays, but I am doubtful that wisdom teeth would cause something like this, not so fast. It is far likely to be an abscess or something and that is treatable with antibiotics. You do need to see a dentist though cos the reason needs finding.
Drink the wine, get numb. Then go and sort it when you can. And.. take painkillers but not with alcohol!
