So if the XP default setting for the VM volume is 1.5x of physical RAM, and the VM was set at 144mb of VM RAM, that means she has 100mb of physical RAM? Very strange.

14 April, 2005 at 10:53 pm #106492Xp always makes the default setting of the VM volume 1.5x of the physical RAM instaled as we already discussed. So this would mean she has only roughly 98 mb of pysical RAM? :? What physical RAM does she have instaled?
Further to this ‘if’ she has 256mb? of RAM and 144mb of VM making a total of 370 mb of RAM she should still definatley have no probs running a clean instal of XP with no progs instaled, She should have at least say 100+ mb free. Dont get me wrong im not saying your bullshíttíng but this just dont add up. Something is definatley not right here.

15 April, 2005 at 11:04 am #106494If you go to start, then `run` then type in msconfig, then click on the startup tab you should be able to see what`s ticked to run on startup Ellen. If you can put the list on here then I`m sure someone will be able to advise you about what you do and don`t need on startup.
