Windows Media Player 10
Whenever I try to click to open a music or video link on a site that requires WMP, WMP comes up with an error message: “Windows Media Player encountered a network error. Restart the Player.” If I then save the file instead of open, I still get the error.
Any ideas ??? Any ??? Anyone ????

There is the possibility that the site you are trying to download music/video from may no longer be running (valid). The webmaster may have closed it down – even though it is still on the net.
There have been times when I have wanted to download etc, and it happens that I also get the message you have spoken about.
I would not worry about it too much – I also have WMP 10, and it works OK :D
Is WMP your main default for downloading/playing music/video?
I have RealPlayer, QickTime, iTunes. But have WMP as the main default player.
:D
The link that Ow£n Ka$h has put on site is really worth checking out.8 October, 2005 at 7:19 pm #150385Thanks for the link Owen xoxoxox
C00D11CB: Encountered a network error
Windows Media Player encountered a network error. Restart the Player. If the problem persists, restart your computer.Although I have restarted the laptop so many times. Still the problem persists.
But, I’ve found that this isn’t limited to WMP, I also tried downloading a sample track to Real Player and it said it couldn’t connect because I was offline………………..[this was from Amazon.com].
So I’m more confused than before, oh well !
