Last night I posted a memorial to the Manchester thread, to remember a close friend that I lost in the Brussels bombings a few years ago, and all victims of terror. I woke up this morning to discover that it had been deleted. If find this to be highly disrespectful, and I very much take offence to it, which is not something that I do easily.
I will not be using the boards again, this is something that I cannot forgive.
If I will continue to use the chat rooms remains to be seen.
25 May, 2017 at 12:23 pm #1045466Was it criticising Islam? If it was you will find the likes of Ge phoning in to complain… he can’t take any criticism of his primitive way of life sadly
25 May, 2017 at 12:31 pm #1045471I never mentioned anything to do with Islam

I hope you return once your anger dies down.
26 May, 2017 at 11:55 am #1045796Hi! Joining this area for first time. Trying to familiarize myself some reading different things. Noted something deleted regarding situation regarding friend. Perhaps going to source to find out why may help. Some times our talking voice can sound strong typing our feelings. Others reading may feel it from what read. Sure can work itself out if that important to you

26 May, 2017 at 12:09 pm #1045798That’s a nice and thoughtful thing to say, Linda.
Losing someone close to you in a bombing seems highly relevant, and I have no idea why Martin deleted it. He should in all decency explain, at least privately, to drac.
There’s been too much personal nastiness by some on jc on such a traumatic event already.
In the meantime, I hope someone as serious (if misguided) as drac will return to the threads.
26 May, 2017 at 12:31 pm #1045804I live 45 minutes from N.Y.C. September 11th I will never forget, nor any other attacks New York has had over many years. For years I have listened and read media and especially those directed to”terror” thru-out” our world and many many innocent whose life has been shortened. Often I reflect do people use religious beliefs to promote “attention” to specific cause? Leaders/attention grow when people want change, and do not know how to go about it. What really bothers me is using children as soon as born to influence and teach hate for all others whom they do not know. This is where change is desperately needed.
26 May, 2017 at 12:59 pm #1045812Linda, I recognise your concern about terror attacks, though the indoctrination of children goes on in all cultures, including our own.
I think that whatever our beliefs and arguments, the loss of close friends such as drac’s, and of innocent children and teenagers, is particularly heartbreaking, and affects us all.
Like you, I try to understand why and how this horror occurs. Crying over things is just not enough.
Jeremy Corbyn has just made a particularly courageous speech today about the cause of the terror attacks whihc have plagued our world whihc is already being twisted and used by the Established powers-that-be.
I think that serious discussion is all-important in trying to understand why these events take place because we need to avoid worsening the situation, and because we need to understand how to stop these things happening.
The role of Prevent, the main organisation in this country to work to stop young Muslims from being radicalised, needs to be discussed seriously, especially given the fact that some of the Manchester bomber though whether this got through to prevent is being discussed.s peer group were altering the authorities to his extremism in the months before the attack –
26 May, 2017 at 1:11 pm #1045815Thank you. Being a newbie to this chat site, learning and understanding new things from “eyes, ears, voice of others” helpful especially outside of my Country.
Being an advocate in my community, an x-politician, working with law enforcement, therapy and counseling your views help me working with others for better understanding. Thank you for your shared kindness. -
