Incidentally far higher numbers watch mens tennis than womens tennis so again there is absolutely no criteria they should be paid equal amounts. If we accept you are paid on a sliding scale of ability / viewing demand then it’s case closed
9 July, 2017 at 11:20 am #1059580More than 40% of elite sportswomen in Great Britain have experienced sexism but only 7% have reported it, according to a survey conducted by BBC Sport.

When the Chicago Tribune tweeted “Wife of a Bears’ lineman wins a bronze medal today in Rio Olympics”, you might have assumed that media coverage of the Olympics had hit “peak sexism”. Yet as the US women’s gymnastics team blew the competition away in their qualifying round, a commentator on NBC opined that the athletes looked like they “might as well be standing in front of the middle of a mall”. The ensuing backlash across social media channels highlighted the growing disconnect between consumers’ view of female athletes and the perceived stereotyping by traditional media channels and brands.

There is a lot of skill and training involved on the riders part. The horse “performs” if you like but it requires years of training and dedication.
9 July, 2017 at 11:23 am #1059585Accusations of sexism have cropped up repeatedly in this year’s Olympic games, almost as garish and ubiquitous a feature as the medals themselves. We’ve seen participants ridiculed for having the audacity to have the muscles required to be world class athletes, criticised for wearing too much clothing in a hijab or not enough in a bikini, as well as spark controversy for mentioning how menstruation affects their performance. Most recently, an athlete’s boyfriend’s decision to propose to her when she was fresh off the winners’ podium sparked think pieces around the world as spectators flocked to ponder whether this was a romantic gesture or a sexist sign of male dominance. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/rio-2016-the-charts-which-show-how-sexism-affects-how-we-talk-about-female-and-female-athletes-a7197516.html
You’re boring the sweet jesus out of everyone on the forum… do you not realise how silly you look every post repeating the same lines. Try a post without the word sexism- see if you can actually do it as you clearly don’t grasp what the word means. The fact you are using an example of a man proposing to a woman as an example of “sexism” when discussing pay at wimbledon illustrates how weak and utterly pointless your arguments are.
9 July, 2017 at 11:25 am #1059588Ge is clearly just trolling the thread full of nonsense unable to discuss the actual topic as usual posting links to a man proposing to a woman attempting to use it to vindicate his sexism argument.

Wearing a hijab would limit your hearing and peripheral vision anyone who wears one would be handicaping themselves compared to other competitors.
as well as spark controversy for mentioning how menstruation affects their performance.
Are you trying to claim that it doesn’t effect performance?
Most recently, an athlete’s boyfriend’s decision to propose to her when she was fresh off the winners’ podium sparked think pieces around the world as spectators flocked to ponder whether this was a romantic gesture or a sexist sign of male dominance.
Proposing is a sign of male dominance?
What?

Yeah, but a horse could potentially perform all the tasks required of it without having a rider at all (at the time of the event, obviously it has to be trained still).
9 July, 2017 at 11:31 am #1059594Interesting thought.
Both men and woman play baseball here. Men have both major and minor teams, pay scales different. But women do not have a major team.. eg
Yankees, Mets. Woman more geared to professional colleges when applied in many sports. Football have never seen any woman in that profession. Soccer again, male major teams, woman college.? Not familar but is Pollo a recreational sport with no payment professionally, but bets between men? Woman ever do that, do not recall seeing that either?
Ice hockey no woman teams can think of. N.y. islanders so forth.
Basketball, Knicks so forth, woman again college playing….
But do see men as well as woman doing volleyball, golf, roller skating and wrestling and boxing…. but no woman suma wrestlers. Is that what they are called? Incredible weight with those wrestlers….
Tennis seems in my opinion the only sport which seems more focus with gender, equality, strength, pay so forth even over golf…and golf requires skills of body performances in hitting with clubs in my opinion.

Rudeboy logic, I provide evidence that woman and men are treated differently by advertisers and commentators and so his logic about viewing figures is therefore flawed and inaccurate and here is Rudeboys stock escape route. You carry on, shouting at anyone who has the audacity to challenge your aggressive, sexist, prehistoric views. You just can’t have a conversation without resorting to personal abuse.
Bless.
9 July, 2017 at 11:36 am #1059598Basically was trying to point out with equality in pay, think sports in general already apply domination thru male gender… again with tennis always more focus and not other sports both sexes play..
So my question also, do not know, do female and men get paid the same in tennis? Do not think golfers are.
