So it looks like Brown will win the non elected coronation for Priministerialship, but will he be good enough?
We used to be a democratic nation, so surely we should be given the right to vote for a PM?

The electorate votes for a political party (through it’s representative prospective MP’s ) in each constituency. The party with the majority of elected MPs in Parliament then forms a Government and its leader becomes the Prime Minister.
There is no mechanism at all in British politics for the electorate to vote for a ”Prime Minister” as such.
Each party appoints a leader from amongst their ranks according to their own party rules. That leader becomes Prime Minister (or Leader of the Opposition) after a general election.
If you are elected to Parliament as the leader of a miniscule little party with no real influence at all, then you get called ”Ming” instead of ”Menzies”.
If you are a member of and vote for a nonentity political party with extremist or fascist views and have no MPs elected at all, then it’s better to keep you mouth shut and go and do the shopping or something equally useful.
12 May, 2007 at 12:04 pm #270318I voted Chameleon Cameron. Not that I know anything about any of those candidates, but the name sounded cool 8)

Why are you the dictator of my opinion? Isnt it rather ignorant of JC to call Mr Griffin a bad racist…

As such…I asked for JC posters to vote for who they think would be the best Prime Minister, NOT through the electoral system, gosh you’re thick.
Chameleon Cameron thinks human activity melted enough ice which created the English Channel, yes he’s thick, and PB supports him.
13 May, 2007 at 3:54 am #270320I think PB, the leading candidate for the “Monster Raving Loony Party” should be prime minister.
ForumHost ‘If elected I promise to give horses more equal rights than women, gays or black people with afros, black people with normal hair are fine, whereas white people with afros are simply sent infront of the firing squad” PB says:
If elected, I promise to make Geology the official religion of Great Britain.
