Whats ya fav comedy?
I apologise for having to disagree with you Emma, but Friends’ is total unmitigated crap. If you mentally blank out the canned laughter (which is only there to tell you when the scriptwriters have made a ‘joke’) the dialogue is utterly inane. They seem to think that even the act of walking into a room and saying ”Hi everybody” is hilariously funny.
My favourite comedies?? I love Monty Python. Fawlty Towers is incredibly funny
Is it at all possible that manwell from falwty towers could walk in a room and say hi everybody, and it be hilariously funny?
2 December, 2006 at 12:35 am #251950Not a chance Emma – in any event Manuel says ”Que???” and is hilariously funny.
This simply goes to show that English comedy scriptwriters can get a genuine laugh with one word, whilst American ones need canned laughter with several words … and they are STILL not funny.

Hilariously funny?
Geoff, manwell made me laugh alot, the English have a way of doing that, pretending to be a foreigner and larking around.
The PC brigade at 10 downing street would say its racist :D

I love Friends, it makes me feel warm inside when feeling sh.itty and low after a bad day at work. I love nothing more than to slam a vid on and watch em for 2 hours solid.
You must be getting on a bit Mr PB.
However, saying that i do have a fondness for other comedies such as Open all Hours, Porridge, Monty Python and Fawlty Towers, nothing beats a good ol thrashing of ones automobile. The Life of Brian and a Fish called Wanda are my favourite film comedies.
And now for something completely different.
Poo bum = PB.
Hey rainny you is just like me darlin, i loves me old comedies aswell :)
