I apologise for having to disagree with you Emma, but Friends’ is total unmitigated crap. If you mentally blank out the canned laughter (which is only there to tell you when the scriptwriters have made a ‘joke’) the dialogue is utterly inane. Not a chance Emma – in any event Manuel says ”Que???” and is hilariously funny.
This simply goes to show that English comedy scriptwriters can get a genuine laugh with one word, whilst American ones need canned laughter with several words … and they are STILL not funny.

Geoff, manwell made me laugh alot, the English have a way of doing that, pretending to be a foreigner and larking around.

I was never keen on Tommy Cooper till I saw him live at caesars palace. He was as you say absolutley hilarious!!!!!

However, saying that i do have a fondness for other comedies such as Open all Hours, Porridge, Monty Python and Fawlty Towers, nothing beats a good ol thrashing of ones automobile. The Life of Brian and a Fish called Wanda are my favourite film comedies.

i wouldnt watch a programme every week for years a few times a week that was a camera following a nurse or an ambulance driver or a firefighter around the place it would bore me and i like some non reality stuff now and then so a soap is good for people
