Thank you all for your suggestions. Isle of Skye is where I really wanted to go, even found a lovely remote cottage on a cliff top, then I done AA Route Finder and it was gonna take 9 hours to get there  dozy mare!!!!!

Anyway, think we have decided on Loch Lomond, beautiful but not too far to drive. Been there before and I loved it but it was with a “previous” so I was trying to go somewhere else  . But nope, Loch Lomond it is. Now just gotta find a lodge/log cabin. Oh, thanks for your hotel suggstion Lucky, maybe last year that would have been an option but family/financial circumstances have changed somewhat  .

    Thanks you lot xx

Dee, base yourself here for seeing Loch Lommond and the Trossachs National Park we go there the kids love it there… also Oban an hours drive, fort william etc…. also on this site have links to their other sites ne’er Dundee, Nairn etc…..

What a fantastic time was had by all 8) . We stayed at Inveruglas on Loch Lomond and it was bloody marvellous! Full view of the Loch from our terrace, magnificant view of huge mountains from kitchen window. Visited Inverary, Oban, Balloch, Stirling and Helensburgh (only for the Co-op!). Drove through various other places such as Luss and I’ll be buggered if I can remember the others! But oh my, by far the best bit is getting to these places, the scenery is breath taking. I’ve been to Scotland many times, but it still amazes me. Mary, think I passed your wigwams too! And everytime we drove past Firkin Point I chuckled!! Passed the De Vere one as well lucky, don’t think they would have took too kindly to the little un and his weaning  .

It’s a far cry from the holidays I used to have BC (before child  ), but ordering Haggis from a restaurant to take away was interesting  . Went to the Oyster Bar on Loch Fyne, timed it so little one didn’t need feeding…..yeah, right. Anyway, we survived, so did the other diners I think! Oh, seen Lorne in the supermarket as well, and I’ll be buggered if I could remember what it was?!?!?! Just remember there was a post once. Anyway, enough of food, I put on bloody 8lbs in a week

There was so many things to see, so little time. But above all, relaxing, peaceful and beautiful.
