AND SAY, I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANY LONGER
I am referring to 3 stories recently, the first being the Lord chief justice, speaking at an East London islamic centre on thursday, he said
“muslims in britian should be able to live under sharia law”
THEN
2 schoolboys in Stoke on Trent were given detention because they refused to kneel down and pray to allah.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO WAKE UP?
Are you using the great power you have to make a difference in your lives?
Why don’t you start motivating yourself and EMPOWER yourself?
Steeeeeretch your mind a little further, are you aware of the American house of senate Bill going through at the moment, resolution 362, it states the following
“Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That Congress – (3) demands that the President initiate an international effort to immediately and dramatically increase the economic, political, and diplomatic pressure on Iran to verifiably suspend its nuclear enrichment activities by prohibiting the export to Iran of all refined petroleum products; imposing stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains, and cargo entering or departing Iran; and prohibiting the international movement of all Iranian officials not involved in negotiating the suspension of Iran’s nuclear program.”
Ilegall invasion of Iran, a muslim country, surrounded by islamic countries, with trigger happy israel
WORLD
WAR
THREE
Why are they gearing us in England to dislike islam?
Why do we let them gear us up?
Why don’t we use our democratic power to stop the madness?
You cannot wait for the media to tell you what to do.
YOU decide YOUR future.

ERR- NO he didnt say anything like that (not that you’d let facts get in the way of a good story)- he said aspects of familial sharia law could be used to resolve aspects of domestic dispute, just as aspects of Jewish law, Jehovahs Wintess, Catholic law etc are used in other communities BUT he said ANY sanctions issued could only come from British law

As for point 2- simple- sack the teacher involved if she doesnt see it as a mistake- inmcompetence isnt difficult to root out if dealt with quickly
5 July, 2008 at 8:17 pm #351851The laws of the land take precedence over the rules of any organisation. Muslims can live by sharia law in this country as long as what they do is not in conflict with national laws. The same applies to other religions, clubs etc.
Footballers get red cards for committing fouls but they haven’t broken the law. Orthodox Jews choose to do nothing that can be construed as ‘work’ on the sabbath. Catholic priests agree not to marry. Again, they are abiding by mutually agreed rules of the organisation they belong to.
I am an atheist, I am against all religions, so I’m not promoting them here! The problem with sharia law is where the radicals press for sharia to prevail in situations where it is in conflict with national laws. We can never allow that.
Another problem is many of the sharia rules that are not in conflict with national laws, like not drinking alcohol or women having to wear headscarves are OK if they are voluntary (which they are, technically) but are enforced by coercion or even intimidation.

He used the word principles. I shouldn’t have put quotation marks.
Nonetheless, its a slippery slope to a 2 tier law system.
6 July, 2008 at 8:23 am #351853But we already have a two tier system for catholics, jews, jehovahs witness, methodists etc
I don’t like the idea it but it’s difficult to argue that if you have a catholic confessional whihc dishes out hail mary’s for your sins that a sharia court can’t tell a man how to best spend his money?
