Mine was pernod and blackcurrant “still makes me heave just mentioning it”
I must have been all of 16 fresh out of school and in my first job. The christmas works night was coming up . My workmate asked me to go half for a bottle of pernod so acting as if it was my fav drink i coughed up a fiver. On the night of our works do getting dressed in my mates bedroom we popped open the pernod, my mate added some blackcurrant cordial it tasted awful! she said if i add some cider its called a black witch! anything to take the taste away.
We both hobbled down town to the holiday inn hotel paradise street in Liverpool where our works night out was being held. the bottle of pernod wrapped in xmas paper incase we got searched we could say its a gift ” .The night was going great i was feeling giddy, confident, talkative and excited. We sat down to a huge christmas dinner then the dancing started. When ” young hearts run free ” came on i said ” oh Franna i luv this song lets gerrup ” as i stood up the heel from my shoe got stuck in the back of my dress , i only did one of them staggers across the floor knowing you are going to hit the deck any minute but didnt have anywhere to fall! i was like a bowling ball out of control. My supervisor took me the toilets to wash my face try to sober me up ! i happened to glance in the mirror at my image, i had huge black fangs either side of my mouth my cascara was all smudged around my eyes and a large rip in my dress from Littlewoods catalogue wouldnt mind id only made one payment of £1 still has 19 weeks left! A taxi was called to take me and Franna home i was staying in her house. Cant remember getting undressed, once i laid down on the bed thats when the nausea hit me, i was grabbing the side of the bed as it spun me around i knew i was going to throw up but couldnt move- the first thing i grabbed was my new handbag from Littlewoods catalogue and threw up inside the bag! I still had the two fangs on my face for days after. Dress ruined , bag ruined Franna’s dad took me home where it took me 4 days to recover! Back in work i had to do the walk of shame through the factory.
Today i cant touch the stuff or go near anything smelling of aniseed. I learnt my lesson that night and im sure the devil himself was inside me! Never been drunk since .

First time i got drunk i was 14,with my older sister and best mate..I got drunk on sherry on my birthday.I had a fantstic night laughing, just being daft. They laughed there head of at me,i was so silly.I dont remeber a huge hang over.Maybe thats why i never learned my lesson.Skin tight black cords, lovley black silk top,new at the time they were called granny shoes.I though i was very grown up and the bees knees.Had my mother known,i would have got thinking i was grown up and drinking. She would have killed me.

8 September, 2018 at 7:25 am #1103271Well, my first drink was when I was 18, too.
It was just beer.
I was still at school, and had gone out for a night with schoolmates.
I wasn’t sick because I hadn’t had too much.
But I still remember being incredibly merry, and giggling all the time, while my parents looked on with the proud smile of watching their eldest child being mildly drunk for the first time.
I didn’t drink again for a while, but got into a phase of getting badly drunk in my mid-20s. I went to one party and drank a nearly-full bottle of Martini because I thought it was lemonade. On my way back on the tube, I tapped the girl opposite on the knee. initially alarmed, she soon realised that nothing nasty was intended as I said, “I really am sorry” and puked up on the floor in front of her feet while managing to miss her shoes and clothes. She smiled in a funny way but didn’t move. Still not sure why.
Anyway, after suffering a thundering headache, I decided that there were more funways to spend what littel cash I had and went on the wagon. A glass of red wine at the weekend is now my allowance, and I am pleased with that.

8 September, 2018 at 7:50 am #1103272First time I got seriously blottoed would have been around 12 or 13. I lived on an army camp and shared a bottle of vodka with 2 kids in a hay barn from the neighbouring village which was 4 or fields away if you took that route which was quickest. I staggered back somehow over those fields thinking I was perfectly sober and sauntered casually into the front room where everyone was watching tv. Apparently I was covered in mud and cow sh*t and my old man dragged me upstairs and gave me a cold shower for about 10 minutes.
