It bothers a manager much more if you give them a cheery smile.
They don’t know what to make of it., especially if you keep waving to them whenever you see them.
They may get the impression that you don’t care, but eventually the penny will drop that you don’t care and that you’re also laughing at them.

I know a darn good ex Unison rep that will give him a good run for his money if he didn’t know that basic fact .
