Good point just….far too much sex in films these days….not that i won’t admit to watching Baywatch in it’s day…..mind you i only watched it for the Californian weather….LMAO

Problem is….when you sell to the masses…….the big bucks beckon but the critics start to reckon….

Then it all goes wrong and they all say…oh …what the heck is going on?

Many eyes look but do not see……..many eyes see out of perepheral  vision…..perhaps one ought to see with 360 eyes and stop watching television……..LMAO

I’ve approached Mr Steven Spielberg with a new idea for an exciting movie.

It’s going to be called The JC Brexit Debate.

It will star the oily and evil cardinal Richelieu as sceptical guy, arguing the case for Remain

The Three Brexiteers (now Brits, despite their names) :-Alfie as Athos; Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Porthos; Cosy (if allowed) as Ge Aramis. Captain d’Artagnan to be played by Ms Moooosey (disguised by whiskers and dressed as the young, brave, foolhardy chap). Occasional appearances by Supreme Overlord Paigey, played by Catwoman, and Jane who rarely speaks (played by Jane). narrator – Mister Q, when he can be found.

The Voters are played by The Incredulous Mugs.

    in Glorious Technicolor.

The plot is gripping and unmissable. The two sides once again argue over the brexit debate of 2016, reliving its highs and lows, revisiting the debates of yesteryear, ending with the playing of Land of Hope and Glory as the victory vote is counted, with Alfie Athos waving a a Union Jack. in a slightly insane manner. Strong language – Aramis will give dollops of unsolicited obscene abuse at Cardinal Richelieu. Gallons of abuse and maybe some nudity??

I received a reply from Mr Spielberg – a sheet of paper with the words ‘yesterday’s news’!

oh, dear. Will we have to fast forward to 2018???

Rule number 2……..once you have captured the viewers attention……the mistake is to make sure you keep it……..the viewer does not want to be led like a dog along along the path on a lead to the obvious conclusion…..don’t play the viewer……the viewer can make his or her own conclusions in their own time……give them some thing to think about……

very weak  link to bring yet another Brexit debate on to a thread about films…  Scep in all seriousness you appear obsessed …. it’s like its ‘all consuming’, surely you have other stuff going on ?  oh and its not good to indirectly insult your opponents in debate, with cheap shots….  and I’m far from fool hardy too.  Just saying….

Oh and before you try and say yu were merely bringing a touch of light heartedness to it all, playing the villain in a tongue in cheek way, I don’t think it’s fooled anyone….   that’s just my opinion

    Ge

The truth is you are far too polite Moose. Politeness goes nowhere and achieves nothing in this situation. The guy is a troll, he deliberately instigates board conflict and always has, it’s the only way he can ram rod his extremist views on everyone else and justify his countless insults. He assumes he is hilariously funny and far too high brow for everyone else on these boards. Until they agree with him, then they are the second coming.

He doesn’t debate. all his his mealy mouthed opinions are based on what other people say, he hasn’t got it in him to put forward a reasoned argument and then bounce off the responses inviting participation in a healthy debate. You, myself and the likes of Dan will passionately argue our case, no hidden motive. honestly. The likes of Septic and Alfie always have a hidden agenda, they assume it demonstrates their uber intelligence.

    :good:

I think everyone who regularly post,  apart from the obvious, has a certain amount of intelligence, maybe some more in certain fields, I do not claim to be an expert in Politics, although I far outweigh others in different fields, this does not make me more or less intelligent than anyone else, I don’t expect someone to be as qualified as myself in certain fields, however that doesn’t mean I think they are less intelligent, which is were I feel Scep does himself a disservice. He is obviously well read, and has an eclectic taste in reading matter and films, I think he name drops these authors etc to ‘show off’ in a way…..  ( bet you’ve never even heard of them kind of way)  I admit I haven’t in many cases, he also ‘rubbishes’ any popular mainstream books and films, as if they are for the great unwashed, not intelligent, well read people like himself . Its an attitude which comes across.  It is deliberately done in my opinion.  However, that doesn’t make him  intelligent. It makes him clever.  There is a difference. A street cleaner may well be intelligent, its not all about watching arty films and reading physics books. Alfie may not be intelligent but may well be clever…..

Ms M, you seem obsessed with telling me that you really are intelligent.

I’ve never denied it. IN fact, quite the opposite. Yet, you still keep coming back at the point.

Something important going on there, Ms M, or you wouldn’t keep coming back to it. I can make guesses at what it is, but in the end, I don’t know. Only you know – I think.

There is a deep prejudice against people who are cultural (to use an old-fashioned term) and it’s that prejudice which the Trump Right and the momentum Left play on for all their worth. That make them ‘populist’, haha.

I have a distinct taste in movies. It’s not popular. If I don’t like them – such as Tracks – I avoid them.

I read a lot of books that nobody has heard of. I don’t like popular books, and I don’t read a lot of books that I should read. I wouldn’t read novels at all for decades, couldn’t concentrate on them. I missed out a lot. That makes me well-read.

When I had to see someone about 10 years ago, I kept saying I’m not really intelligent, I only read a lot of big books, from cover to cover. I mean I kept saying it over and over, because that was drilled into me over and over at a very early age. She told me that reading big books is a sign of intelligence. Oh – I still get terrible feelings that I’m not bright because I’m working-class, but I’ve always had those, and I always will. I’m sure our resident psychologist, Gerry, will be able to play with all that in another false denunciation.

So I like some arty films. You don’t like me because of that? Gerry denounces me in the most obscene terms because of that. Sorry, put it in your pipe and smoke it, as I used to say as a kid.

I’m watching a film called Dreams at the moment, which is a knockout. A series of dreams, the first two of which are childhood dreams. It’s really strange, it made me remember the dreams I had as a child. They are very distinct, the dreams we have as children, and very different form the dreams we have as we enter the back end of life.

    Oh, and Ms M,

    while we’re at it,

the term put it in your pipe and smoke it is preferable to your nasty term ‘Boil your head’.

That term reminds me of when I was a child. A cop in the town walked into a house to arrest a guy reported for child abuse. When he looked at the big pot of boiling water on the stove, he saw the heads of four small children staring up at him from their eyeless sockets, their skin half disintegrating. The cop was traumatised, unable to speak or do anything thereafter. it was the talk of the town, and scared all of us kids shitless, as we could easily imagine ourselves in that pot. A family member connected with that little horror show later moved next door.

Now if I were being nasty, I could round on you something horrible, and without using Gerry’s obscenities.

But that would be a bit unfair, wouldn’t it??
