24 November, 2012 at 2:23 pm #505529It’s Town Day, lots of hustle and bustle and high spirits and lots of smiles all round despite the weather…and for some reason people think I need feeding! So far the tally is a tray of homemade fruit flapjacks, some cupcakes, a coffee from Costa and best of all the freshly made doughnuts, still hot, and he remembered that I don’t like them sugared :D

Hello Mrs Teapot
Oh im still about but not much for online activities nowadays.
Im working and reading and really should be picking up my guitar as i got to grade 8 standard on the classical, just seems such a waste.
Im looking in to buying a moped as my cars been scrapped, would like to do 25 mph in a 40 just to hold up the traffic.
Still devising racing systems as my long term aim is to retire and buy a vw camper and tour round the uk.
My cousin has a narrowboat but im not quite sure where he is at the moment. He set sail from Burnley marina (didnt know they had one) heading towards Leeds, so he might be somewhere in the midlands at the moment. If i catch up with him i will jump aboard for a few weeks. x
24 November, 2012 at 4:40 pm #505533Almost a year ago a customer in her mid twenties came into the shop, absolutely devasted…her sister, in her early thirties and a mum of 3, had thought she’d beaten cancer a couple of years previous but had been told that day that she had secondary cancer, that it was terminal and she had just a couple of years to live at most. My customer was devastated, I held her for at least 10 minutes as she sobbed. Needless to say she wasn’t looking forward to Christmas and all she could think about was losing her sister and the children being left without a loving mother. We talked about faith, life, death, the importance of a positive attitude and making the most of every day.
Roll forward a year…
My customer has just come in full of smiles, she hasn’t forgotten that day and she wanted to share the good news, that her sister has just had a check up and the cancer is significantly reduced and the whole family is looking forward to Christmas this year and planning a cruise for next year. :D24 November, 2012 at 4:44 pm #505534@jen_jen wrote:

Ah……lovely to hear from you certy… a narrow boat you say …sounds fun :) I remember once hiring one for a family holiday…. we broke down two days into the holiday so phoned the boatyard for help….. it took them half an hour to find us. :D you cant rush in a narrow boat… or cover much ground :D I’ll look out for a man with a bucket and a ladder on a moped….. :D
