Falling foul of the early morning swimming mafia and being described as the younger generation
(if you hear that I’ve been found at the bottom of a swimming pool you know who’s responsible!)
Jen are u talking about early bird swimming?
I used to go some years ago now, I was in the pool at 7am. My god, it was heaving with bleeding old men and women WHO HAVE ALL FKING DAY TO SWIM! The pools should be open to peeps who need to get to work. Rant over
They don’t call it Early Bird here, it’s just the morning adults only session with half the pool given over to lane swimming. Apparently the younger generation (me!) “have no consideration for other swimmers, I mean, I know it isn’t our pool but Margaret swims there and at 81 she should have priority”. All I was doing was swimming up and down in a straight line not bothering anyone except the lifeguard who looked a little panicky when I had a minor asthma attack!
But you’re right, 75% of the swimmers could swim at any time of the day.
They did make me laugh though, muttering away at each other in not very quiet voices, having a go at everyone that they thought weren’t swimming as they should (not just me)
