    Is it possible to use ram for a PC3200 computer in a PC2100 computer. what will happen if you do..

    If I understand the question correctly, then yes, you can.

    It will just run at the lower speed, that’s all.

    No, along as it’s the same type!

    If you asking ‘can you put faster RAM on a ‘slower’ motherboard?’, then the answer is yes.

    All that will happen is that the RAM will run at the speed of the motherboard it’s placed on.

    If it makes you feel safer, don’t go ahead until others confirm it.

    Or for the techies out there, the faster RAM will only go at the speed of the bus on the mb.

    Ok thanks, I wasnt sure, because on the package it says for use only in PC3200 Only. The correct RAm for my computer says for use on PC2700 or PC2100. I just figured if it was compatable it wouldn’t say for 3200 only.
