Think the Count was he not in prison like 20 plus more years?
What a waste of time due to the actions of others due to jealousy over wanting a woman while in despair. Pregnant, married another,to protect own child.
Cried in the end when stood on hill looking over at the prison which took most of his young adult life, while in the arms of those only he loved. What a true man, who uses hatred to turn it around, and find good in the evil in which he so hurt..

Ahhh Linda, the Yorkshire Dales….beautiful part of our country. Scenery takes your breath away. Lovely fresh Yorkshre air, and lots of sheep. They do tend to get out of their fields sometims and wander into the road,so be careful if you hire a car. Also the highlands of Scotland. Love it there. If I could move up north I would.

I was referring to the factual count on T.V Linda entitled Hidden Mysteries with Jamie Theakston. But as you say, in the film it was portrayed as a much longer time. It’s a true fact as wewll apparently that while he was in Prison, a priest gave him the map to find the treasure which til i heard from the show thought was made up for the film. One American show that we get over here which i have been following for a few years is The Curse of Oak Island (Novia Scotia) where for the last 200 years, people, even presidents and film stars have been digging up the island for a mysterious buried treasure thought to be buried there by The Knights Templar (possibly artifacts from Jerusalem and/or gold and precious stones.

Yorkshire Dales were featured on T.V last night Jane in the show where Larry Lamb and his son George go cycling.Absolutely beautiful scenery…..they went to a very famous Cliff face where i forget the name of but is fantastic to look at and cycled a stretch of the Tour de France route…..one of the hills being a gradient of 17%
My mates take the mick out of me because i’m a flat road racer mostly and when i talk about the steep hills in Somerset they always start going on about hills in Yorkshire they have climbed.

Interesting point though Linda………How much of T.V and film adaptation is always changed, altered glossed up, sexed up or other like factors. Count of Monte Cristo written by Alexander Dumas who also wrote The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask. Awesome trilogy of books.
Man in the iron Mask is another mystery Jamie Theakstone did a show about…….and is where Dumas got his ideas from due to a prisoner who for reasons couldn’t be killed so had to wear a mask at all times.
No one really knows who the prisoner was but it’s obvious to me that due to the fact his face had to be hid, he resembled some one very closely. I can see where the idea of the twin brother of the King developed.

Jane…Americans well our driving and all, can you imagine me renting car there driving on opposite side of road???
Ha ha, your sheep would be fine, it is all those fences on opposite side of road I would worry about.
