have tried the wilkinson stuff shaz and it doesn’t work at all, we were re-infested within a day or two :?

have done my cats in frontline(still seem to have them so far!) and are going to get some bob martin room foggers tomorrow(3rd diff lot we’ve tried) so if they work i’ll let you know!!

thanks btw :) i can’t wait to have my little girl either x

Best place to go is the vets, I thought I had a problem with fleas, when I went to the vet they hadn’t got them but they told me that they have stronger sprays to combat the problem if needed. They are quite costly but worth it.

Im weary of the fogger things… everything is so full of chemicals nowadays, and I hate it.

Im hoping the traditional combing and cleaning method has worked for now, ive tried and failed with frontline before, so wont use that anymore either. I know that when the cats have their flea collars on it tends to dissapear so will get them some new ones and hopefully conker it that way.

now get to bed and dream of giving birth and tell her she has a crowd waiting to see her lol xx

    You lot should try hoovering.

Just watched ‘Adulthood’ and hadn’t a clue what the hell was happening. I knew what was going on, but I got lost at ‘Gwan, is a batty boy. Safe. Get me?’

No, as a matter of fact I didn’t get much of that.

I haven’t got any carpets

I have to have carpet because of the dog, she used to slip on wooden floors and she has dodgy legs so when we moved we got carpet throughout.

I must admit wooden floor and leather sofa’s = nowhere for fleas to live but they will still thrive on the host and piss them off big time.

Amber has started barking at her bum when they irritate her, its really funny to watch but at the same time I hate it and take her out for a comb.

Fleas live in cracks and crevices like around skirting boards and down the back and sides of sofa cushions, and only jump on the “host” to feed, then they jump off and go lay eggs which hatch into larvae and only become apparent when they mature into adults. Combing will catch the feeding fleas but thats all and hoovering is great but whose gonna hoover every crack and crevice all the time. You have to ttreat the house too or leave the doors and windows open and the heating off and hope the winter kills them.

The best flea treatment available from vets is called stronghold. You put the drops on the neck of the animal and it kills all parasites (fleas, worms, ear mites – the lot) You can buy this for dogs and cats.

For the house, you can buy a spray from the vets for about £12 which will stop the problem reoccurring.

When we first had our cats from an animal rescue home, they were 9 weeks old and were covered in fleas. Tried everything, and eventually took them to the vets as nothing seemed to work. Advantage was the first and only thing the vet ever prescribed, and i can honestly say, they have never had fleas since, and they are now 3 yrs old.

Whatever you do DONT buy bob martin products. They are completely useless, and a waste of money. Go straight to the vets. It costs more for Advantage but it WORKS.

Thanks for that Pebbles. Ive avoided Bob Martin for a long time… just a money spinner the whole product is.

Pete they do lay on the animals too… thats why when you comb them you see flea dirt and eggs, and ou see the fleas moving around on the animal.

Acclaim is the house spray pebbles prevents larvae from developing into adults, good stuff
