there have been a few similar stories in the news over the last few years.
but this happened to a very good friend of mine, and its just made my and my friends think a little bit more about it.
its a bit of a long story..but just bare with me…
my friend is in his early 60’s and is single and lives alone.
for nearly 20 years he has worked with the community and ran loads of youth clubs for the local children. 3 years running, he was awarded the community person of the year. (big award in our town.).
3 years ago, he had to retire from the community work due to bad health.he had had a hart attack and suffered badly from angina.
as he lived alone he had nobody to look after him.
every body in the town taught very highly of this man, and so did all the kids that he worked with.the story began 3 years ago, just shortly after he returned home from hospital after his hart attack.
many of the kids from the youth club would knock on his door and visit him to make sure he was ok, and run errands to the shop for him.
5 girls in particular, would regularly call to his house.
they would black mail him. they demanded 5 and 10 euro from him at a time, or they would tell there parents he was “”touching”” them.
gradually the amount of money went up in to the hundreds.one day my friend had had enough of it all and decided to move away.
the girls followed him to his new home, and continued the black mail.
on the last blackmail attempt, they asked for 1000 euro.
my friend was so angry he threw them out of his home and shouted at them never to return.he lost all his confidence in people and hardly came out of his home.
2 weeks later, my friend was arrested at his home, and brought to the police station and was questioned for 2 days.
they examined him and took samples of his semen.the girls had claimed that he had been raping them for a number of years.
:( :( :( :( :(any way….long story short..
it went to court, and was dragged out over 2 and a half years.
there was no evidence to charge him.during the 2 years, a community that once taught very highly of this man, turned against him.
now that the girls have been found out to be bullshitting, the community is full of guilt.nobody has come to apologise to this man. ( not that he wants their apologies now.)
the thing that i find appalling is..
this man has been found innocent, but yet he will have the name..”pervert” for life.
the girls, have been found out, and noting has been done to make these girls pay for their crime.
after all, they wasted the best part of 3 years with police, social workers, counselors, hospitals, solicitors ect, ect.
what ever happened to innocent till proven guilty.????
and why are girls aloud to get away with things like this.???
very sad story Jenny, the worst nightmare im sure for your friend….
if the girls have been proven to have made story, surely these girls should now be charged with atleast extor bugger tryin to spell that lol tryin to blackmail… and perjuray… that spelt rite..??
i don’t understand why the girls get away with ruining a mans life, and his reputation… shocking….
i know, that’s the thing that has us all confused.
the police are saying if we want to get his name cleared, we will have to take a civil case against them, and that could take years.
but the damage is already done.
we would have to take them to court and sue them.
we don’t want the money.
we just want them to make a public apology.as for the girls being charged, the police keep telling us that they cant discuss the case with us.
its just so unfair that this can happen to any man.
didn’t something like that happen to some footballer last year..??
he was accused of raping some girl.
he was later found innocent….but still has the name…””rapist”. and his career has suffered because of the allegations.
It is sad Jenny. Iv’e said on other threads and for a long time now, that in cases such as this, the women, unjustly, walk away without a scratch. They should at the very least, be charged with wasting police time, invariably though, they don’t.

They should be charged with wasting police time, pay your friend compensation for the trauma they have caused, have it on record for at least 5 years so if they go for jobs etc they have to declare what they, if they can blackmail once they could do it again. It’s the whole thing with allegations of this nature, the men never get protected, I believe the women do need to be protected, because of the genuine rape victims. But when silly girls do things like this it constantly undermines the genuine cases and takes precious police resources elsewhere, when they could be used for other genuine victims. My heart goes out to your friend for having to go through such public humiliation through these girl.

my friend does not want compensation, money wise any way…
he just wants everybody to know the truth.
there are still a lot of nasty rumors flying around the place.we have been in contact with solicitors, and they say that we can not go to court and ask for a public apologies, we must sue for money.
the is absolutely ridiculous, he is an old man, he has enough money to get him by, he doesn’t want the money.
he wants his name cleared.
i do feel sorry for girls and men.(yes there are some out there) that have genuinely been raped, and because of girls like this, it makes the genuine people afraid to go for help.
it just annoys me so much to think that any person can get away with making these allegations.
in Ireland, a few years ago, there was a lot of these cases in the paper and on the news of people that had claimed they were sexually abused in homes run by the catholic church.
there were some genuine people out there that deserved compensation,
but there was also a lot of false claims made.
the details of how they tried to fraud the state were printed in the newspapers.
the police seem to think that the girls used this information to help make there own story seem real.there only problem was, they could not prove anything, and could not remember things they had said only days before.
if your going to be a liar…you need to have a good memory.
If you get accused of a crime like this and you’re completely innocent, there’s a good chance you will go to prison anyway if the case goes to trial. A jury will not give you the benefit of the doubt because the public has the mindset that there’s no smoke without fire. So it will always be a case of guilty until proven innocent with these accusations. Blame the tabloids for making the public like this. Remember when Matthew Kelly was accused of that sort of thing? The scummy News of The World tried to drag his name and reputation through the mud, doing everything to make people think that he was guilty, even though he was completely innocent.
I wonder how long it will take before Ugo’s post gets deleted?
