Jay-Zee at Glastonbury…don’t quite sound right as headliners but it don’t float my boat either n some obviously like him
Gigs do cost a lot but I don’t drink or smoke- in fact I havent been out into town on a Friday or Saturday night for about 4 years (  ) so i do save money that way
V festival this year (one day ticket not two day) set me n the missus back bout £150 but that will be it for this year cos of the nipper- worked out like that its about £12 per month which aint too much
Anyway, I’ve often gone on me own to a gig if there’s no sad person who wants to come with me (tho now Mrs Slayer does come more often than not) n thats even cheaper
I never saw Bob Marley n I never saw the Clash live- two bands I’d remortgage the house to see now (lol also very unlikely as Bob M and Joe Strummer are dead)
23 April, 2008 at 10:02 pm #331688Im with you on the Clash and Marley. People who did get to see them are so lucky. But isnt that the beauty of music… it lives on and people who werent even born still get to hear and see it.
Ive applied for the Radio 1 big weekend in Kent, but not got any chance of being picked for a ticket. I think there are 30,000 and last year 500,000 registered. It will be more this year now they have revealed Madonna’s headlining.
Oh well… fingers crossed just in case!

I hate to admit this but I got dragged to a Kylie concert with a friend and her little sister way back in 1990.
Duran Duran, Madness (5 times).
Aswad, Wet Wet Wet.
Ive been watching a load of local bands lately, I cant print most of their names as they are crude!
very often local bands / groups and singers are just as good if not better they just aint had the lucky breaks.
Personally i love to go to the pub when they have performers on wether it is groups or one man / woman stuff, usually a fantastic atmosphere good music and its free well apart from the beer lol23 April, 2008 at 10:19 pm #331690@sharongooner wrote:

Sharon- dont register, just buy them off the touts when you get there- you’ll get a ticket for about £40 (ok, so its not cheap but it gets you in)
Jeez, I shudnt be encourgaing support for scrounging touts should I
23 April, 2008 at 10:33 pm #331691lol!! they are giving out personal ID numbers and everything to stop that… I wouldnt wanna go all that way and end up not getting in… maybe a few years ago I would have.
Your right Poli… cant beat live music at a gig. I do all the extremes… up the legion for some tame “something for everybody” music, then hit the bar in town for local legends and jump around :)
Love it!
