A baby girl has just been given the name Autumn Sullivan Corbett Fitzsimmons Jeffries Hart Burns Johnson Willard Dempsey Tunney Schmeling Sharkey Carnera Baer Braddock Louis Charles Walcott Marciano Patterson Johansson Liston Clay Frazier Foreman Brown. The parent, from Wolverhampton, said “I’m hoping Autumn has a good sense of humour with her name.” Well, let’s hope she is a good boxer!
Does common sense come into this? When George Foreman named his five sons George and actor Jason Lee called his son Pilot Inspector, what were they thinking!
Why do people saddle their children with names that induce ridicule and teasing? Why would you set your offspring up for years of torment? Will these names be a handicap and destroy their self esteem or maybethese names will toughen them up and build charactor. Either way, what was you thinking Penn of Penn and Teller when you called your children Moxie Crimefighter and Zolton.
Peaches Honeyblossom Geldolf said ” my weird name has haunted me all my life.” I wonder what Shannyn Sossaman’s son Audio Science would say to that!
I went to school with a girl called Susan Flay which we nicknamed souffle and she hated it. Anyone else know someone burdened by their parents “creativity”and how did it affect them?
26 July, 2008 at 5:40 pm #357196Ive seen a couple of cases at work where the parents have named their kids after every player of West Ham, and another with at least 10 random names.
Do they not think of the kids as they get older? Its madness! Though if I had another son, Id call him Suggs Raymond Winston Thierry Wenger Timberlake.

IMA HOGG
She was called a legend in her own time, and for her, it was quite true. Born in Texas to a wealthy family, she was not named in humor, but rather after the heroine of an epic poem written by a paternal uncle. Rumors still abound that she had a sister named “Ura”, when in fact she was the second of four children and the only girl. Her brothers had the more traditional names of William, Michael and Thomas.
Ima grew up in the heat of Texan Politics. Her father, James was elected to county attorney, district attorney, attorney general, and lastly the governor of Texas.
