Now I know how badly Labour are doing running the country.
The Tory party are fighting the local elections impersonating
Greenpeace!Whatever next? The BNP supporting the abolition of border
controls? :lol:19 April, 2006 at 1:15 am #210115If the Tories are playing the ‘green’ card; it proves what a good job Labour
are doing, was the point I was making.19 April, 2006 at 1:42 am #210116I am with you 100% on tackling global warming.
But it’s quite a low priority for the UK electorate.
Clearly Labour are doing much right.19 April, 2006 at 7:58 am #210117I see the real environmental problem being that fossil fuels are running out. At least that means that any global warming will be limited as we are forced to run down our consumption!
Now they’re talking about building MORE gas-fired power stations. When they decided in the 80’s to build lots of ‘clean’ gas-fired power stations, that resulted in our North Sea gas reserves being used up at twice the rate previously predicted.
Now we need to import natural gas from Russia, the Gulf and the Far east and still they talk about building more gas-fired power stations. That seems crazier than any talk of building new nuclear ones!!
19 April, 2006 at 9:27 am #210118It’s a well known fact that the single largest source of ‘global warming’ gas (methane) is as a by product of ruminant’s digestive tracts.
Put simply, every time a cow scoffs grass etc and digests it, a large quantity of methane gas is produced which the said cow then farts into the atmosphere.
The fatter the cow, the more grass it scoffs, and the more methane gas it produces.
So stuff yer Kyoto so-called agreements – the only sane way forward is to ban fat cows.
In fact all cows should be banned and we could make a good start by banning the dead loss Health Secretary Barbara Hewitt who is producing enough oral farting to fill the Millenium Dome – oooops sorry I mean the O2 Dome. (We don’t want to drag up ALL of NL’s failures do we???).
19 April, 2006 at 10:00 am #210119Ive just walked up oor road their… its bin collection day…. most folks have 2 wheels bins… and their full to the gunnel…!! why don’t people take the time to Re-Cycle… once ur organised its pretty simple… and unchallenging….
and the state of some people gardens littered like Tips…!!! well do people tend nowdays not to care for their propery and surrounding areas… surely baffles me and I aint the brightest of sparks..!
and there is soo much domestic waste…!!
19 April, 2006 at 3:08 pm #210120What a brilliant idea Mary. Maybe the beloved Tony Blair can announce yet another time wasting initiative to rid the streets and gardens of this great country of ours of all rubbish & waste.
Of course we will need a rubbish supremo – or even a rubbish Tsar – just like all the other rubbish Tsars that Tony & his cronies have foisted on us over the years.
Perhaps he can persuade a captain of industry to lend NL a few million quid to fund this – for the usual backhander of a Peerage.

It was the Tory party that introduced Tsars.
Robocop aka Keith Halliwell was the Tory drug Tsar. Promoted by John
Major, alongside his ‘family values’ initiatave. All that while he was
cheating on his wife and shagging Eggwina Curry, {a rare breed of
politician who dared to tell the truth, and got sacked by the Tories for it)! :lol:So much for family values.

We have 3 bins where I live, one for glass, one for plastic, cardboard and paper, the other is for any other waste, I have a compost bin but they are no compulsary. Our bins only get emptied once a fortnight… my bins are hardly ever full. it works here. If people stopped buying prepacked shyte then maybe it be halved.
Sian, we have the same, it was only since last yr I started properly re-cycling as my Lass shamed us into it… but now its second habit…
slightly off subject Sian but u mentionin prepacked foods… Im in awe when I go shopping and watch other people put up their shopping.. all pre-packed Lasagnes, steak pie’s etc…. Im like… JMMOG… the money ur spending their on pre-packed shyte full of additives its a doddle to fling fresh stew into a pot add an oxo, onion and simmer…. thicken put in dish roll oot the pastry ( buy that lol ) and pop in oven….
people don’t know how to cook, and say they don’t have time as work etc… but u can actually make things in no time if ur organised… and a must have in a kitchen is a pressure cooker pot… makes soup in 30mins…
ohhh im verbal diahorriain…. Who’s thread is this… sorry lol
