i watched the loose women show this lunch time and they had a brief discussion about a young man from belfast who, had been badly beaten and made to walk the streets with a board around his neck stating that he was a thief and a burglar. on the one hand it showed that he was obviously more scared of whoever did this than he was of the court system and the police, but it also showed that street justice is also sometimes very cruel.
its not difficult to see why people are turning to this style of justice when, the police are powerless to act because of age or human rights laws, or are forced to overlook some criminals because of the p.c madness we are being forced to endure. and even when they eventually get one of these scrotes to court, the courts dole out a stiff warning and a small fine at worst.
on the one hand we have law courts that are seen as little more than a joke. and on the other we have young teens in gangs mugging, robbing and stealing cars on a daily basis and laughing at the people who they terrorise and leave in their wake.
is there a case for bringing back the stocks ? or for these people to be named and shamed for all to see. mabey if these lads and lasses were forced to walk around their local village or town dressed in bright orange boler suits with a sign on the back saying burglar or car thief or whatever they are convicted of. it would bring crime down. after all as it stands they pretty well get away with anything, including murdering each other nowadays.
having your neighbours and family friends find out you are a mugger or a thief would be a life changing experience for some of these people. and being recognised for what you are would make a lot of them think twice. or would it ?
what do you all think ?

I was watching Toughest Towns or something like that once about Belfast and this was a common theme. Some have more faith in street justice than they do with the law and as you pointed out, in some cases it is understandable. The police can only do so much until it’s taken out of their hands by the powers that be.

The other side is, a lot of the young have a go hardmen who have been on the end of this brand of justice are motivated by it as it only adds to the danger and excitement. Much in the same way some see being arrested as a way of gaining status and a reputation in their own little circles.

It depends on the individual. Every week in our local paper (and most likely local papers throughout the country) folk are named as thieves, thugs etc in the court section but the majority don’t care about what people other than their pals think of them hence why their names will probably be there again this week. However, some will see their names there once and never want it to happen again.

If guilty, he got off lightly.

This has been going on for 20 years. The locals have turned to the local villians to police their community because the namby pamby authority dont believe in punishing bad people.

All encouraged by the politicians, because they know the law abidding will revolt, then the political elite will say we need controlling.

Their doing the same thing with mass immigration, they know the white/English will rise up.

is there a case for bringing back the stocks ?

There is a case for the decent people of England to vote out the madness and put in place a system that punishes bad people, starting with gordon brown.

Im just sorry you had to watch Loose Women Wasp

Most normal law abiding people, particularly those who have been the victims of crime, would quite welcome a bit of public revenge on the perpetrators- it is indeed rough justice- unfortunately it doesnt stop there- next time its someone who simply isnt liked or stands out from a crowd- rough justice is also justice delivered by the strongest rather than the most just.

Simple Wasp- give me a guarrantee that the only people subjected to this would be people who, you’d swear on your kids lives, were guilty then I’m happy- tar n feather em

Dont get me started on that old chestnut!!

We had a van parked in our space yesterday. Our OWN space, and none of the neighbours knew who it belonged to, so I phoned the police as I have done before and they have checked the reg on the PNC and reacted whether its known to them or not (ie stolen etc). Round here there has been the odd car fire with people setting fire to them, so I was not willing to take the chance so rang up as usual. After getting through to a neighbouring towns station (aka Heartbeat)… they are not PNC trained instead have to send officers round.

Im at work and other half is home and they knock asking for me. I told them on the phone I was at work and gave them a number. The vehicle has been moved.

They give my old man such a hard time it is unreal. Looking at his tatoos and skinhead etc.

All someone had to do was punch that vehicle number in the PNC and job would have been done.

They have done it for me before, and this time they make out WE are wasting police time.

I thought I was helping them prevent a major fire and loads or resources spent on the fire brigade coming out, never mind the potential damage if that had have happened.

I wont bother next time. We’ve got insurance. Sod any neighbours that havent and lose their cars that are parked next to it.

It really does want you to take that attitude doesnt it? Pity I could never actually be like that though. If only.

well as some will already know. we in the little vilage where i live have already taken the law into our own hands, a young scouse man who was dealing hard drugs to kids. [actually he was giving it away free] was paid a visit by three rather large men. afarmer, a retired rugby player and the village lunatic. [and i mean lunatic.] he was told to get out of the village within 24 hours or take what was coming. he saw sense and left. but a couple of years on we have a bad coke and kettamine problem. [supplied by our tinted brethren in the take away. [brings a whole new meaning to getting a takeaway dunnit] the police have been informed a hundred times and they seem tp be either deaf or they are so pc they darent do anything, despite the shop having no glass in the windows for the last month.
i personally would take the law into my own hands if ti thought for one moment it would do any good, but the sad fact is if you condone such things openly youre likeley to get a knock on the door from the police at 4 in the morning and be dragged away for being racist.
if my son were to become a burglar i would personally beat the sheite out of him and put his photo in the paper shop window to let everyone know his choice of career. but im glad to say my two are boringly well behaved. [x fingers] [well exept for the odd drunken stupidity]
if the police are seen as less than useless as they are for sure here. what alternative do we have but to dole out local justice.
im all for it in some cases, but as some have said where does it end ? do we drive paedophiles underground ? just to endanger children in other areas, do we dole out punishment to people who are less than capable of helping themselves ?
    im not sure yet .
but i can see why its becoming more popular and i can see it taking off more and more unless the government give us enough police to do the job they are being stopped from doing now.
if i were given the choice with a teenage mugger, senfd him/her to court or take em on the moors and give em a hiding. i know which id prefer and it would free time in the courts for them to do a more thorough job with the dealers and the pushers who help these kids get into this trouble in the first place….

Cruel? He’s a burglar. He got what he deserved. Vigilante’s are needed in this day & age, and we’ll be seeing more of them.
