The United States has hundreds of military facilities around the world. Russia has a lot too, mainly in former USSR nations.
In Britain there are 7 or 8 USAF bases, depending on which info source one reads, plus many smaller installations.
Do we need them? What uses are they to us (as opposed to US!)? Are we sure that the US isn’t using their bases here in operations that are against our interest.
I am not against overseas bases or the US having some facilities here, but on a smaller scale. We do not have any airbases in the USA, although we do have one in Canada.
Now that the USA is building new bases in Iraq, Afghanistan etc., does it need all its remaining bases in UK and elsewhere in Europe, a legacy from the Cold War?
I know several were closed a few years ago, should that trend continue?We have a few Military bases around the world ourselves too Bass .
I can’t see what harm any of it does . Surely it makes sense for our biggest allies to have bases here ?
If you want to control the worlds economic stability, and stop islam taking over the belief system, then you need a base in which to build from.
Take the Italians, they would be a major enemy of the rest of the west if we hadnt organised a percentage of the mafias wealth earnings.

I said I wasn’t against the US having overseas bases. I know we do have a few too – Cyprus, Gibraltar, one in Canada etc. India has recently opened its first overseas base, somewhere in former Soviet central Asia.
What I’m querying is whether WE here in Britain need all these bases. The USA should be building more bases in Afghanistan, Iraq etc. That’s where the epicentre of conflict is now.
I thought you supported a resurgent Britain taking on the rest of the world, without the need of allies!
We still haven’t got over giving away a big part of our country in 1921 because a few hothead traitors started a riot in Dublin in 1916, while British soldiers were being slaughtered by the hundred thousand in Flanders etc. The loss of the West-British provinces of Leinster, Munster and Connaught and part of Ulster was the pivotal event in the decline of our nation.
You’ll see, sometime in the future your kind will be having your severed heads posing on pikes for all your high treasons.
