well everyone got intrestin insights into this case as usual…
firstly noones knows the full details as its all hearsay etc…
yes this woman needs help etc, BUT what she did wither under delunsions etc or not she has taken 2 innocent lifes, then her 3rd baby hangin in a balance, then her husband and family and distroyed them all, yes she needs help but she can’t be excused for her actions, and has to pay for that….
Mary, when and if her sanity is ever restored to her, the woman will more than ‘pay’ for this for the rest of her life. Her anguish is unimaginable.
As for not being excused for her actions – by dint of being detained under THE MENTAL HEALTH ACT that is exactly what the legal system will decree – that she IS excusable for her actions as she was not in possession of her mental faculties when she commited them.Simple solution : Hang her – then she wont have any more anguish – if she ever gets any that is
We are far too soft in today’s society if we are looking at making excuses for the cold blooded killings of 2 kids !!!Nice to see you back fit and fighting anyway Essie – Grim xx

Pete, when I was lower than a snake ball bag with PND I wanted to end my own life at times, I was low,
Some would say not low enough.
Are you saying you’d prefer me to be dead? Oooo check you, nasty knickers and here was me thinking you didn’t take these boards seriously.
This is a serious topic that you and Kev are trying to spoil, why don’t you just do one. Idiot.
Esme, everyone has differing opinions, no need for us to get uptight, what the law states and what I believe are 2 very different things.

5 June, 2008 at 5:48 pm #339546I haven’t posted on this thread before because am finding it all too close for comfort. My grandnephew’s mum is back in hospital with peurperal psychosis. She was as right as rain and as happy as anything to be pregnant, had got everything perfect for the new arrival and well 2 weeks after he was born ……. Anyhow, she is in the best place and getting the right treatment, and my nephew is a lovely lad, he will look after her and his son well, but it isn’t a good start for them all.
I have no idea why some people get this but I know it is very rare to get it as seriously as the woman who killed her children. I just feel so sorry for her, because as a few of you have commented, she will be getting treatment now, and when she recovers, god knows how she is going to cope with the knowledge of what she has done.
To think that a sudden drop in progesterone and oestrogen can cause this kind of reaction is scary.

Gosh, I hope she recovers soon enough to enjoy her new little one while he is still small.
Perhaps the woman who is the subject of this thread never had caring relatives like your grandnephew’s mum has.

I wish her well, Minim, there are few things worse than this, especially at what should be a happy time for the family. Hopefully, rest, reassurance and the necessary medications will restore her to good health and back home to her loved ones before too long.
5 June, 2008 at 6:10 pm #339549thanks you two… luckily my sister figured out what was wrong and acted quickly.
