Just thought I would start this thread because every time ciggies are mentioned in room, I sort of recognise that a few people have attempted to or have given up smoking.
I am still not smoking. It is just that when I see someone lighting up, there have been moments…..quite a few of them…..when I have been tempted to mug them for that fag pmsl.
However…. at the moment I want to stop smoking more than I want to smoke… if you get the drift. :-sHowever I now have a new addiction fgs….nicotine chewing gum.
One week off the chewing gum…..ate nearly all the biscuits I bought last Xmas (think they were okay) and been a bit em narky at me family when they visited.
So I am furiously chewing nicotine gum again……. trying to be less crabbit… and wondering if I stopped buying food would that help? :?
Anyways gone to kitchen to make coffee.. and put a padlock on the biscuit tin.

8 October, 2005 at 12:54 pm #151274OK, I gave up smoking 4 years ago….. 4 YEARS AGO….. You know how I did it? I just STOPPED !!!!! IF you REALLY want to STOP then STOP ! It really is as simple as that, PUT THAT FAG OUT NOW and NEVER BUY ANOTHER PACKET ! (Oh yeah, and stay away from pubs, clubs and people that smoke for the rest of your life !!!!!)

Well done Mrs Clean….4 years, so hope I can say that one day.
em just so hope cleaning wasn’t the alternative to smoking :shock:8 October, 2005 at 4:12 pm #151276I agree with mrs clean wilma. I stopped 25 days ago. I just said ‘sod it’ and never smoked again. (i know 25 days aint long but im getting there lol)
The first 10 days or so I did nothing but eat and piled the weight on, but that fades after a while so go eat your biscuits and throw the gum out of window.
9 October, 2005 at 7:50 am #151277sorry to make light of a very difficult and testing time, but you know me, i believe that a little humour lessens the load and allows the body to release natural chemicals which give us a lift – in all seriousness- i totally respect anyone who has the will power to stop – cos i know i dont !!
good luck guys !!!
