You make a habit of generalising everything assuming one logo means that America is a larger version of the BNP. You do realise the ” America first ” logo was first coined in 1916 by president Wilson but if the cap fits to make it Trumps creation as this nasty right wing nationalist monster so be it..you keep pigeon holing everything as Trump = The uk BNP if it makes you sleep easier at night.

That shows your lack of understanding. America First isn’t just a form of words,. Wilson used it to mean he was sticking to neutrality in the First World War, and he went back on it within months to join the war.

America First isn’t words – it’s a mind-set, an ideology. Without going into its history, the mind set means that America is being screwed by the world, and that aggressive reassertion of America’s interests is needed to show people that America isn’t a mug.

That’s why  Trump is starting a trade war – trade wars are good, he says., because we win them. USA wins because USA is powerful. Hes sacked large numbers of his trade team because they are desperately trying to show him that international trade doesn’t work like that.

International cooperation in world trade means everybody is better off; trade war means everyone loses. The USA will lose by a trade war, though not as badly as we will lose in terms of our standard of living and employment.

Spin – pah! If he doesn’t pull back, the news will be full of it. When the UK ha a trade war with Ireland in the 30s, Ireland was ruined. Trade wars can lead to real wars – look at the beggar-my-neighbour trade wars of the 30s.

Wake up, fgs! America First is Britain First with mega-clout. A view of the world based on aggression and competition, rather than cooperation and agreements.

    Sometimes it is, Morgan, sometimes.

    Other times – maybe not.

Trump sees himself as the master deal-spinner yet Kim pulls one over him.

    Funny old world in that..

    and not at all.

Every country is in a ” trade war” Are you seriously suggesting china, Russia and all others including UK isnt looking to trade in order to benefit it’s own people.. what planet do you live on? You seem to live in this Mary Poppins fantasy world where all countries bar the evil trump administration are all out to help each other over afternoon tea with frilly napkins. Open your eyes ffs and stop living in this fantasy world of how you want things to be instead of reality

I just thought this meme was funny.

It’s not a meme poking fun at other jc members, it’s a lampoon at two figures who are both very dangerous but who also have an air of absurdity about them.

    It made me laugh.

    It still makes me laugh.

God, you’re easily led up the garden path, aren’t you?

    No wonder you voted Brexit.

There is a difference between a trade war and trade.

You shouldn’t need me to tell you.

If you can’t be bothered to google it, look at a supermarket as an analogy.

A supermarket is in competition with other supermarkets for the trade of customers.

When supermarkets engage in a price war, they are in a literal economic war with each other, and the result is usually to drive one of the big supermarkets out of business, or weaken it so badly it’s open to being taken over.

At that point the supermarket ‘trade war’ is brought to an end and they get on with normal competition with one another.

    Geddit???

Because whether you do or no, if the trade war trump is threatening develops and gets out of hand, we’ll all be getting it.

Talk about the man with no knowledge bellowing about everyone else being stupid!
