The deal is coming to be called the nothing burger.
Kim is generally seen as the victor. He’s emerged with legitimacy, Trump didn’t think human rights in North Korea were a big deal, and the threat of a nuclear attack against North Korea is being defused without any concessions so far.
Kim was desperate – his nuclear facilities seem to have had a major accident.
Trump could have got so much if his greedy little eyes hadn’t been fixed on those hotel-hungry beaches in North Korea.
Still, there’s the big deals to be reached through his trade wars, about to start within weeks, against Britain, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, China…..
Will QE and Jane still be so admiring of the master dealer if that starts, I wonder??
13 June, 2018 at 1:40 pm #1098111You are in an argumentative mood today Scep….
13 June, 2018 at 2:07 pm #1098113Just a concerned mood, Jane, just concerned.
happy that the threat of nuclear war has been temporarily lifted, though that happened a little while ago.
Not happy about the trade war brewing – and hoping Trump will change his mind.
He usually changes his mind several times, mind you.

We’ll all be affected as the attempts to reduce global warming are reversed.
No we won’t, we will be long since dead. The earths life is finite anyway. If “global warming” brings it’s demise thousands of years after everyone on this board is dead , why should that concern you?
The destruction of the earth’s natural habitat, and its beauty, should concern everyone.
Why should it , because you say it should? The earth was created from an inhospitable ball of rock/fire and will end the same way.. if any global warming affects it , you won’t be around to see it and neither will I unless you believe in reincarnation under the impression you are coming back as a futuristic rat or the ilk alive hundreds of thousands of years from now.

every President has put the USA first, and every British PM has put Britain first – as they see it.
America First, like Britain First, is something else. A specific movement. See the cartoon from 1941. It’s the same idea, whihc has a long continuity on the US Far Right.
America First means that Trump is on the point of starting a trade war with Britain, though his peculiar personality can mean that anything will happen.
When the trade war starts, whose side are you on??
Morgan seems to have chosen his side, but I may be mistaken there.
You make a habit of generalising everything assuming one logo means that America is a larger version of the BNP. You do realise the ” America first ” logo was first coined in 1916 by president Wilson but if the cap fits to make it Trumps creation as this nasty right wing nationalist monster so be it..you keep pigeon holing everything as Trump = The uk BNP if it makes you sleep easier at night.
I’m not on anyones “side” incidentally , this isn’t a school playground. There is no such thing as a true native American unless you are dealing with red Indians and no such thing as a true native brit with us all an amalgamation of german/French / Scandinavian influences. This false patriotism is fairly childish and no more advanced than gangs in a playground.

When did Trump say ” Human rights in north Korea is no big deal” . It’s more spin and nonsense to justify your irrational hatred of someone based on nothing more than an illogical mindset steeped in left wing hysteria. This is coming from someone who actually defends something like Islam which advocates slaughtering homosexuals and treats women as second class citizens in comparison to their male counterparts … the hypocrisy is mindblowing.
Why should it concern you or I if Trump starts trying to buy/build hotels in north korea lol.. truly bizarre stuff you write.

I agree, it is.
truly bizarre stuff you write.
You do, yes.
13 June, 2018 at 3:18 pm #1098122I think that scep, often deliberately, writes his spin to prompt and provoke others into debate.
You all queue up to bite. The more you all bite, the more outrageous he gets.
The lesser you bite, then he “toes the line” more.
It’s very likely he doesn’t mean ALL of what he writes. Devil’s Advocate.
13 June, 2018 at 3:27 pm #1098123I’m not spinning.
The nothing burger described by the media, the victory of Kim, the failure of Trump to nail anything at all down in return for concessions to Kim are not spin.
When Trump was asked about human rights at the press conference, he pushed the question aside. he achieved nothing at the conference.
If anything is to be achieved, it will depend entirely on whether Kim thinks it’s in his interest. let’s all hope that Kim agrees to denuclearisation, but Trump failed to pin him down on verifiable denuclearisation. Before the summit, this was said to be a ‘must’ phrase.
Trump’s plans for trade war are not spin. This is due to start in a couple of weeks time, unless he changes his mind, or forces Britain, Europe etc to agree to his force majeure.
If and when such a war breaks out, will you be supporting Trump? Such a war is a natural extension of his America First policies.

Some of us choose when to bite. Rather like you.
