The Woody Allen case led me to an awareness of this. I always liked Woody Allen’s humour, and the accusations against hi 25 odd years ago disturbed me. That they arisen again without any new evidence, and have been taken so seriously that Allen is now in danger of losing film contracts and actors refusing to work with him on the basis of dubious allegations from the Mia farrow clique is a result of first-order bullying from #metoo, who havfe pressured stars into dissociating themselves from Allen.

Are you for real?Withought any new evidence. His own son wont have anything to do with him because he actually knows the real man,he knows what went on.He had dirty pictures of his step doughter and mia found them.He was having an affair with her for years, before he married her,i susspect to keep her mouth shut. The other doughter told how he abused her in a at 6 years old.Lets not beleave the victums though eh.Why would a whole familey tell lies. The fact he married his own step doughter says it all for me.

I think the me too movment has been fantastic, taking the power from these bullying dirty men and handing it back to ordonary people who should be judged on there ability at there work rather than in some on creeps bed.Young wimen going out in the world trying to make a living because they have dreamed of it all there lives, having the heart knocked out of them by some perverted power hungry man.Not being abel to say anything, because of the power these people had.

Not onley young woman, children too.The pedophilia that has been going on is being exposed.

Thank god for the me to movment.I hope it gets straghtend out once and for all,the whole shooting shabang of depreved perverts who run the entertainment industry.

Oh and lets not forget Bill cosby.Trying to save his reputation and his money if he wanted a woman,he would drug her and rape her.Dozens of young woman, that if he had asked to have a relationship with, they wouldent and would have exposed him for the dirty creep he is.

These woman as with the winstean wimen, know there not going to get money out of comming forward. At last tho there being listend too.

Scep to be honest as always, I really could give a rat’s ass about outsiders who see looking in.  What read..newscasters of most stations. Honestly..many who vote and like him..think doing a good job use caution as if say in favor of him..slam dunked by others of non support..lol.. I get that in f2 and f3 here. The stuff I am attacked about..Jesus you think after trying to inform of our policies..bring out evidence..lol still not believed…all about Trump..the man. You have a man a Commander and Chief. Title provided. You honestly not tell me before he took office the Democrats and Republicans have not been battling for years. Both parties pig headed..stubborn..Fights between them always..who controls power in the house always a focus. Not first time it has happened. Will not be the last.. it is recognized more now because of Trump.. dislike by many. The media very very skilled to influence public. People think and feel as they wish. The President can not do anything independently always been that way. IT is Senate and Congress….Not Trump unless it is to do with military…he can shut down all if our Country..evidence..extreme attacks are a threat in this  immediate Country.. otherwise he has to go thru committees regarding other Countries. votes scep…. who is the house..not him alone. Get it!

By the way..few States still battling out because races too close to call.

Well, it’s really up to you whether you want to respond or not. It’s your right to defend your President, even though he was defeated by several million votes by Hillary Clinton.

But your country’s concerns aren’t yours alone for one simple reason.

The United States is the most powerful country in the world. Not by a little But by a long way.  That means that the way it is led, its impact on the world economy, its impact on world peace, all affected by its political and social culture, has a huge impact on us all, including the UK. Just look at American films and music and how it’s particularity affected us here in Britain.

If the USA turns its back on the world, as it did after Woodrow Wilson, then we are all affected. When it turns its power to change the world, then we have to take notice. That was true of the ‘liberal’ international order of the Cold War, when the US financed the West and Japan, etc  for many years, it affected the UK. With the US now taking a new direction, we can’t ignore it or think that only Americans are interested in the USA.

We’re all affected by the US. I know about the US Constitution, and have a better historical knowledge of its foundations and development than most (not all) in the UK, and than many US citizens.

I’m going to continue to comment on Trump as long as I stay here in jc, and I’ll remain interested in US affairs as long as I remain compos mentis.

I hope that intelligent conversation with someone such as yourself who’s actually inside the USA will be fruitful and informative for all of us living here in the UK.

I have and will continue to discuss as always what I know.. not told you to stop in this regard..merely trying to state as said before..voting process is very difficult here..Can be divided as you well know. What I said before…Congress and Senate have the power to accept things or not and those do come from the President…all I ask is that they take the matters at hand…and not the man whose words say this has to change..we need to do that..Not the mouth it comes from…and by whom.. this is where our battles come from. And you well know that personalities some times can be major influences on decisions… not critical matters that need focus. Do anything to make him miserable and easy stuff harder..delayed or swept under carpet as often can happen…because of the man..

And Clinton thinks the Country should be run by Democrats only..B.S. lady already stating bias opened remarks. Already deciding and dividing. Glad she not friggin President.  I will move out of Country if becomes President…. will never forgive her for Benghazi and life lost when knew problems..Sent no help. Will never forgive Bill Clinton who knew Bin Lodin and his attempts and refusal to go after ISIS when had a chance but not want to accuse..oh remember that guy did not have sex with that woman..oh please..u can know our Constitution..think I very little there scep shared..but our laws in different States run our government to try to run efficiently.

So yes I live here. Yes we our the lol largest power in the world. And yes we will do what is necessary and fair for all as long as instigators focus on issues and not who playing deck of cards.

    Are you for real?

You’ve asked me this before, and I’m afraid I have to announce that, for the moment anyway, yes, I am for real, though I’m just starting to realistically foresee a time when I won’t be.

But the rest of your post, stressing how #metoo is wonderful (I’ve said I think it’s a really positive force, too) doesn’t seem relevant.

My criticism of #metoo is about their tendency to destroy due process, and that’s why I used the Woody Allen case.

Bill Cosby went through due process of law, and was found guilty of serial rape and sexual harassment. He’s proof that many men use coercion to have sex with women who otherwise wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. Otherwise, it’s not relevant to my point about due process being destroyed.

The Woody Allen case is relelvant. Allen went through due process and was found innocent of pedophile activity. It was an extremely sleazy case run by two very highly-paid groups of lawyers who’ve done their best to blacken or defend Allen’s reputation, but due process said he was innocent, and accepted that Mia Farrow seems to have trained the children to hate him. No new evidence has come out to prove that Allen was guilty.

I have no intention of assessing the case by taking up one side of Allen’s family against the other side, because I’m not interested in defending him here. I read up on the case, and think he’s probably innocent, but I don’t know. Certainly his marriage with Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter is not standard, but it seems on the surface to be a very happy and stable marriage – who am I to knock that? There’s such misery in the private lives of conventionally married couples, and if they’re happy that’s fine.

But if you accept the other half of the case – well, you may be right

You seem to be creating differences where there are none – you didn’t complete my post.

    I finished  by saying –

That doesn’t mean Allen is innocent. far from it. The fact that allegations have been mad by his stepdaughter is enough to lead to doubt. But that’s all it is – doubt. The allegations are strongly disputed, and legally they’ve been set aside. One appeal judge questioned this dismissal and place an order on Allen, but that was withdrawn and the judge removed from the case.

It’s a really complicated case of accusation and counter-accusation. You can’t decide that on the basis that if the woman says it, she’s right.

Oh scep. Lol. You honestly think Korea going to change after 60 years… just had this discussion early am hour. Maybe try for awhile. Old timers in that Country and the people will not make change. Give them “A” for effort.. young leader educated here. Smart guy, in my opinion..Think has opportunity to try, make change. Not going to be easy to move his people forward, again my opinion. Trump giving one chance…

Who cut down that cherry tree? Lol

I just watched that about the tree being cut down, north koria had to opologise and they never apologised for anything..I have to say that i never thought i would see the day when a North korian leader would go to south koria and talk with an american.I cant help but hold out hope.A heliva lot of people died in North koria in the 90s through famin.America at one time giving aid, then stopping the aid through breakdowns of comunications.North Koria is not a place that people can go in to distributing aid.The American government i dont think should have stopped the aid to the people, they could have saved inosent peoples lives. These people are inocent, they have no idea what goes on in the world at all.
