I’m worried that so far I’m the only one who thinks an alpha male is another word for a total b*stard.
Everyone seems to accept that this type of killer is a great guy to be envied and copied.
TC likes the idea of the alpha male, so I look forward to him coming back on this. He asked for definitions, and obviously has his own. I do realise that he wants more discussion.

Na an Alph male is a leader, to be a leader takes brains.They organise, keep order and sometimes when the lesser males think they can do it, put them in there place.They make sure to do there best for the female and babys.Help others when needed ect.
Alpha females are leaders.Here again that takes brains.They organise,keep order, looks after the male and babys.Help others when needed.
There are a few alpha males’nd alph females in jc.They are really nice folk.The kind that makes you feel safe in there chatting community company.

You can’t judge who is alpha or not online. The gobbiest chatter may well be the most valued member in their own community, the quietest humble chatter may well be the local drunk who gets arrested 5 times a week for p*ssing on the roses in the local park. In my world, an alpha male or female is somebody who does a job they detest and every day they drag themselves out of bed, to do a job they detest. They do a job they detest because they want to put food on the table for their children, they want their children to have a better life and a better start in life than they did. So next time you moan and whinge about a dustbin man or woman not picking up a split rubbish bag and its content in the p*ssing rain, they don’t do that job to please you, they do it for their own self respect and for their families. That is Alpha!

If you understand and agree that humans are little more than glorified gorillas, Evolution and all that, please continue. If you disagree that’s what we are, then skip to the next post.
Watch documentaries on Gorillas and / or chimpanzees in the jungle, (assuming you haven’t already) there you will learn about what an Alpha male is. Then try to update the basic principles of what you learn from the gorillas and chimpanzees, repackage it slightly in a bit more sophisticated and human way. Bingo !

To be honest I would prefer you fought with me like a cat and dog than give me any likes. Don’t like that system, it promotes “cliques”, there should also be a dislike button and both should be anonymous.

Not thought about the meaning of Alpha Male really……but the old meaning was yes…..the strong male…leader…maybe sometimes a bit forceful…can be overpowering sometimes…..maybe a bit of an @rsehole
Reading the posts….I agree the modern Alpha male can be very much a strong nice guy….protector…provider….a good team leader
However it would be personal interpretation and would come from experience
