Three major trade unions, the Finsbury Park RMT (the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers); Ilford & Romford Amicus/UNITE, Central London GMB (a founder member of the Labour Party and is its third largest affiliate) have joined up with the “Bolivian Solidarity Campaign” and the “Equadorian Movement in the UK” to arrange a “Community Conference against Immigration Controls.”
According to the conference papers, the “well-known slogan ‘Workers of the world unite’ means what it says. It does not mean “Only workers with the correct immigration status unite.”
The conference, to be held at the “School for African and Oriental Studies” in London in March, will focus on ensuring that the trade union movement sees the “necessity of fighting immigration controls as a whole.”
In other words, the unions seek the total abolition of all immigration controls into Britain, claiming that they “undermining wages and conditions.”
The reality is, of course, that illegal immigration undermines wages and conditions of British workers, and not the other way round.
It has now become obvious that the only trade union which is actually working for the interests of British workers, is Solidarity – http://www.solidaritytradeunion.org/
13 January, 2008 at 3:45 am #303523now that is SHYTE..i see things you type Emma and i let things go as i actually love your devotion..even though its in broad contrast to mine ! but someone like you that has the sheer stance to make one,,makes even me ,,sit up and notice,,
YA got it wrong girl..the trade unions have always supported Bolivia ETC,,AS places that were not recognised under the jurisprudence of defence ! Heck as i type i have a postcard ,, i digress.
the trade unions were NOT invented to grab the money from the working man…and i make no aplogy for singular gender.as was the times in which we lived. It was an exclusive club for tradesmen and tnose with a skill,,THEN the women fought back and we now have females in every scope..but ya KNOW that!
I will gladly stand on street corners bemoaning the sheer facts that brothers.sisters and comrades are being underpaid.
I came from a family that detested going into Europe..i hate it that the labour party gets the blame,,it was the tories under Heath!! then once we were in the EU (spit) we knew jobs were never safe and that cheap manufacturing would be a haven for subsidys from the tories(spit) ..then in waltzed maggie,,a lover of all things Euro..she gave more money to europe (spit) than she gave the entire scotland and north England ! and wales,,sorry boyos !
SHE Closed the mines, engineering, shipbuilding, railways and the docks of every major city…telling US that Europe shall provide ! yep it did..for LOndon and the SOUTH ..she took the free milk from childrens mouths ,abandoned the needy for the damm greedy! and i HATE that Gordon Brown gets the blame of a tragic legacy,,as i beleive him to be a decent man.see ya on the corner Emma..as i diehard,,i will forever defend THIS countrys RIGHT to work,,to cease privatisation, nationalisation and to bring joe blogs on every Avenue, street, terrace.y para casa the defence to stand up for THEIR rights..!
now FVCK europe..! the cheap exports, the killers of freedom ! I just wanted it to stay the same..and in many ways so did you ,i guess ! ? we dont need imports,,be it 200,00 chinkys.100.000 romanians etc..I just want this wee place to look after its own.,.long before thatcher and “free” enterprise ! and things were made her NOT imported at 4 times the price!,,blame the tories NOT Gordon Brown !
/paH !
13 January, 2008 at 12:27 pm #303524I would never join a union again. they seemed to want to help everyone apart from the members. unions should spend less time playing politics and more time helping and saving British jobs. As for Maggie I’d have to agree
then in waltzed Maggie, a lover of all things Euro. She gave more money to Europe (spit) than she gave the entire Scotland and north England ! and Wales, sorry boyos !

For London and the SOUTH ..she took the free milk from children’s mouths ,abandoned the needy for the damm greedy! and I HATE that Gordon Brown gets the blame of a tragic legacy, as I believe him to be a decent man.but what I got to say is this, what has labour done in the past 11 years to reverse the above. in my opinion absolutely nothing !

Correct, they weren’t invented to take from the working man, but thats what they’ve become, money spinning machines for political causes.
Money – power, power – money.
Thatcher was a traitor to us, brown is her newest friend. I wouldn’t pizz on either if they were on fire.
13 January, 2008 at 6:59 pm #303526mmm let me think now. what is the biggest export from bolivia or equador.. oh yes COCAINE [and cornd beef, accepted] now i wonder why these countries would like to see us keep the open door policy we have now.. oh yes! so they can traffic ever more cocaine here, leaving them able to drive the price down and get ever more customers.
lets have another look at afghanistan shall we. when the talliban were left to murder, rape, behead, and generally do what muslims do, they almost erradicated the heroin trade, and what did we and america do.. ah! ye we went over there stuck our greedy grubby hands in the sweety jar and ousted the nasty talliban. [fair enough some may say.] but where are we now ? heroin has never been cheaper and its flooding into britain so fast that customs and exise are running ou of warehouse room to keep the stuff. and they say they only stop one in ten carriers. makes ya think doesnt it ? ive an idea. lets put the union thing aside and look at the reality. britain is fast becoming the drug capital of europe. it has more people on heroin than france or spain. thats a scary scenario dont you think ? we should stop any more foreign people coming here immediateley. before we start to look just like america. where the workforce is made up or poor immigrants such as the hispanics, and the illegals from mexico. while the americans live on welfare and half the country is either using or dealing coke, crack and heroin. and already parts of britain are echoing this state of affairs. look at liverpool, glasgow, birmingham, manchester, leeds. and quite a lot of our smaller towns and cities, there are dealers and crack whores everywhere. and where do they buy it from, mainly asian, or werst indian, and now easern european gang masters. bit it almost all comes from afghanistan, bolivia, equador ans san salvador. and were importing the carriers by the thousand every month.13 January, 2008 at 7:51 pm #303527I hate Trade Unions. Trade Union leaders should be hanged, and all Trade Unionists should be gunned down by shock troops. Trade Unions are evil, greedy & selfish.
Their only aim is to bring this country onto its knees.

It may be an unofficial exporting unit but cocaine is hardly the legally shipped across open seas
Drugs- if you didnt buy them, they wouldnt be here- cannot think of anything more simple than supply and demand- if you don’t demand it, it ain’t supplied
13 January, 2008 at 10:48 pm #303529Wasp- that was the royal “you” not the singular “you”- it was generic, not specific

Large sums of money enter their economy.
…leave the door open at 5.15, make sure the guard is on his tea break
Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if gordon brown’s mob is making money encouraging drugs to get in here, especially as their useless at spending money.

it is wideley accepted that some of the bolivian government are in the pockets of the drug cartells. but you are bang on correct when you say if thres no demand there will be no dealers. but the sad situation is, that people young and old in britain use drugs. and there are thousands of willing people to bring the stuff in.african women for instance can earn enough in one trip to keep their chidren and themselves in food and relative comfort on one trip alone. and if they get caught, we keep them in relative luxury for ten years while they are in jail its a chance they are willing to take. in many countries the death sentence is the only deterrent for these people.
