i have a rule, no one younger than 5 yrs older than my kids, for two reasons.

firstly as quite rightly was said, what on earth would you have in common.
my late husband was 11 yrs older than me, and we had a chasm of differences about how the world is perceived.

secondly, it would feel just yukky to imagine getting all gooey eyed over someone that could be my own child.

yes age is just a number, but some things are just best ……left alone

I don’t have rules, I just use common sense.

Why would a younger man want to get ‘gooey eyed’ over me when he can have a female his own age or younger?

If they’re dating an older woman, there’s always some sort of issue behind the choice (more than a 10 yr age gap), either that, or they’re doing it just for sex.

I would actually feel rather annoyed by it.

My limits would be (if I were looking, which I’m not), not more than 5 yrs younger (and that’s pushing it, given the fact I’ve never dated anyone who’s more than 2 yrs younger than myself), and not more than 5/6 yrs older.

I could stretch the latter to 10 …. but he would have to reach parts of me, his slightly younger counterparts have yet to reach
