How do they serve alcoholic drinks on Italian cruise ships? On the rocks

What vegetables do you get with dinner on Italian cruise ships? Leeks

What’s the fastest way to get off an Italian cruise ship? Follow the captain

When the captain of the ill fated Costa Concordia was asked if he knew where he was going he replied “off course.”

So the captain of the Costa Concordia will soon be in the dock. That’s more than can be said for his ship.

The Costa Concordia is probably the most expensive thing to go down in Italy since Berlusconi’s last hooker.

What’s the difference between the Italian economy and the stricken cruise liner Costa Concordia?
Nothing – The bottoms dropped out of both.

Lucy it is obvious by your posts here you are often a very senstive and fair poster…so if you feel the jokes can be put up then that is ok I guess….

Can we use this thread as a

    Too Soon

thread? Beause for some reason it brought up the question in my head about meeting partners after a break up or a death of a partner….we often read in the papers and mags about celebrities hooking up with someone new so soon after a divorce/split or death of their loved ones….

So…is it ever too soon to meet someone else after the above mentioned circumstances?

is it too soon? brings to mind a story about the famous Dorothy Parker.

When her guy died, and his body was being carried out of the house, an interfering and nosy ‘friend’ hooked Dorothy’s arm and said, “my poor, poor dear, is there anything I can do for you?”

“yeah”, was the response, “get me another fella”.

I dunno, but my son asked me this, his g/f chucked him 3 weeks before xmas, he said when do you think I will be able to be friends with her, it hurts too much atm – I didn’t know what to say…………..eventually I said, you’ll just know, probably when it doesn’t hurt as much – right thing to say? :?

Without sounding too patronising we do think differently when we are younger….however he sounds a sensitive chap just being upset by the break up…loads would just move on I guess…see it as an opportunity to sew their seeds elsewhere
I think when we get over the initial hurt and remember all the good times and the reason why we loved/liked that person in the first place….our anger mellows…..sometimes even that isn’t enough to mend friendships however….guess that’s the reason we can’t really advice anyone but can only tell of our experiences….every relationship is different

lol Kenty, Im not one for giving out if a thread goes off course, I was going to put in the jokes but since many don’t venture from F3 boards and the jokes really tickled me I put it here.

As for changing this thread to TOO SOON – work away.

AS for meeting new people after a breakup – if depends on how you felt about your ex. Some people move on straight away, later it hits that that was just a re-bound and they never really delt with the split.
Also down to how long the relationship was.

Now after a death – Don’t know, maybe sometimes it down to friends and peer pressure – ah but it will get you out of the house/your shell. It will do you good. Them kind of speaches from loved ones trying to do the right thing when sometimes being on your own heals faster.

My mum was widowed at the age of 32 had 4 kids under 14 to bring up ….. she never married again and as far as I am aware never had any fellas…..but I could be wrong…if she did she was very discreet and they never crossed the path of our lives…
I think my mum would never have contemplated marriage because of the shame in our culture. I am talking about the mid 70s it was different then…nowadays we re marry after divorces and deaths and even……………….HOLD THE PRESS………..live in sin!! One of my brothers lives in sin as does my sister………oh the shame of our disfunctional family  Anyway I sometimes wish my mum had met someone as she lives on her own now although she spends her time split between England India and America….very sassy and busy woman for a 70 yr old
