Its a waste of life, time, money and effort.. they are fighting an unwinnable war, they are trying to impose change when change is not wanted. ( Talking Afghanistan here )

i remember images of the twin towers , what haunts me still is the image of ppl jumping to there own deaths , rather than die roasting to death so i remember why our soldiers are there and would rather they kept tryin to win the war on terrorism , no matter how long it takes

Alas the war on terrorism is not something you can fight in the middle east. Its the home grown terrorists and fanatics amongst us, standing next to us on the tube, the ones we went to school with, those who to the untrained eye share so many of our western beliefs that we need to be wary of. I live in Luton…. a very diverse society and a melting pot waiting to explode… I saw protests against our British troops in the town centre last week… from a radical minority… Terrorism is not something you can fight with soldiers. It’s planned behind closed doors.

I have several friends fighting in Iraq and Afganistan… all are changed men since having done so..was it worth it? One dictator is ousted and before long another will take its place. It’s the destiny of that region. – my opinion for what its worth.

how ironic last week our troops come home , a heros welcome ??? far from it , they get spat on , abused , how dare these extremists do this on british soil , wud we get away with it on theres , we,d have our heads cut off , we make the smallest of statements in genral conversation and are told shhhhhhhhhhhh u cant sa that , yet thses muslim extrmists and i quote ” extremists ” can do what they want , when they want , a british citizen out to support his young soldier son on his return , retaliated to the abuse and was branded racist ,sorry but its makes me sick .

and that protest went unnoposed yet this weekend in luton british citizens opossed the radicals march against out soldiers ( same town ) are met by police in full riot gear and arent allowed to march, double standards or wht ??

As white British person in Luton I am in the ethnic minority tictax, but I don’t think diversity of population is a bad thing. It’s just unfortunate that some individuals cannot see past religion, culture and skin tone and live and let live.

    Cas

I think it’s double standards of course. Whatever the minority, if it’s ok for one, then it must be ok for the other, or neither.

I agree tho also with Mel.

It’s a whole dreadful situation. I’m fortunate that I don’t have anyone fighting out there, does’nt stop me respecting those that do. And those that do deserve a whole lot more than they got in Luton. No disrespect to Mel in that.

Pete, i’m so glad your not in command

Fine we can faff about sending “our boys” over there to be killed in a conflict thats unwinnable then we can whinge about the people who object to it, we cant win and wtf has it got to do with us in the first place
