Wow you’re thinking for yourself in this thread? Amazing! I’d have thought you’d be part of the pro-release camp like Ruby.

I agree fully, I find it horrifying that the Lockerbie bomber got released.

He has cancer and he’s dying. So? What about all his victims that died? Anyway, surely this makes him even more dangerous than before now?! Because he has nothing to lose. He’ll probably go out and suicide bomb now!

    Thanks to Scotland’s inconsistent “justice”.

I agree with devolution. I believe each of Britain’s traditional & cultural tribes should have more autonomy. But I still believe the islands as a whole should have one governing body when it comes to the release of serious criminals so it stays consistent through-out the lands.

I always think for my self

 allegedly not judging by your other posts. You start off OK, then quickly take a nose-dive into gang-mentality bullying and go off topic. Not exactly the signs of thinking for yourself. Thinking for yourself would be replying in a civil and intelligent manner and and mature tone. Not simply repeating knee-jerking soundbites you’ve heard on the BBC.

But in all seriousness, surely the Lockerbie bomber is more dangerous now than before. He has nothing stopping him from performing a suicide bombing rampage. He has nothing to live for, nothing to lose.

Why would Scotland be so evil to release such a monster?

Sorry I’m being a bit unfair there. By ‘Scotland’ I’d like to make it clear I am solely referring to its parliament and ultimately whoever agreed to the release of this evil monster. I am certainly not referring to the Scottish people as a whole, who I am sure are probably as sickened by his release as we are.

All with the exception of Ruby who thinks he’s innocent of course, which is obviously just a sick wind up to try and shock us.

I always thought devolution was good, but independence bad. But the SNP-led Scottish govenrment has brought shame on Scotland and embarrassment to Great Britain. If the Westminster government has the power to dismiss the current Scottish government, which is really a glorified form of local government that we, in England, are denied, then it should do so.

    Now if I were a conspiracy theorist……….

On the 3rd July 1988 the USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air 655 killing all 300 passengers and crew. The wreckage fell into Iranian waters.

On 21 December 1988 a bomb on Pan Am Flight 103 killed 259 passengers and crew over Lockerbie, along with another 11 on the ground.

In 2001 Abdel Basset Ali Al-Megrahi was sentenced for the bombing,he is now to be released on compassionate grounds.

Nearly six hundred people have died because they did not count in the power play between two States.

Everytime someone mentions Lockerbie, they never include the timeline from the Vincennes.

Three Hundred Iranian families shed as many tears as did Western Families.

I personally think the UK government knows that this man is innocent, and that the US government knows that this man is innocent, and the Libyan government knows it too. It is pretty certain that the Iranian government also knows this. So, is Megrahi innocent? Having quite seemingly made al-Megrahi a scapegoat for political power-broking, and imprisoned him not only as a sop to the families but also to stop people asking awkward questions, I think that the least that we can do is let the poor bastard go home to die, if he wants to.

As for Scotland, sooner they are independent and the English are shot of them the better :D/

    Dis

SCOTLAND A DISGRACE – HOW DARE YOU!!!! Are you so up yourself that a legal decision by another nation permits you to question a decision made on compassionate grounds, the very fabric of Scotland is that we are compassionate regardless of the crime involved. If you look at your history closely you will find decisions such as these are not only borne by the government of Scotland!!!

General Augusto Pinochet was indicted in 1998 by the Spanish magistrate Baltasar Garzón, arrested in London and finally released by the UK government in 2000. Authorized to freely return to Chile, – I take it this was ok! becasue the UK government said it was..

Or how about Guantánamo Bay thats a fair and legal way of detaining people you have no proof of guilt..

Or lets see how about selling arms to Saddam Hussein then declaring him a terrorist….

Great when it suits you….Or is it just because America told you to be upset!!

And yes there is a way of dissolving our goverment and ensuring we don’t slur the mighty name of the UK its called Independence and the sooner we get it the better!!!!!

Before you detest and miscry a decision made by the legal right of Scotland and cry for the Scots government to be disbanded, look in your own back yard and look at your own disgraceful conducts. I bet you find more than your willing to admit!!

I agree totally, we should have intercepted the decision before it was made. I campaign heavily for a Yorkshire Assembly. I believe in localized government, I’m a firm supporter of devolution – that includes historic counties of England.

It seems a bit unfair to me, that the first inch of power we give to the Scottish, they use it to release terrorists upon the world.

Yet because Yorkshire wants local power to make decisions such as protection of our countryside against greedy Capitalist developers who want to bulldoze it to over-populate the area… we’re denied it.

The Lockerbie bomber has nothing to live for. He is more of a danger now than he was before, you just know he’s going to strap a bomb to himself and go out in a blaze of glory.

And if he does, Scotland should be sanctioned economically and its “government” punished for its crime. Aiding & abetting terrorism.

Devolution – yes. But there should always be a higher power that can intercept on behalf of the British Isles as a whole. A high court.

We should roll back the House of Lords back to its traditional standing and give back its powers to intercept on decisions such as these that could pose a danger to national, and world security.

As for compassionate grounds – did he show any compassion for the people he murdered in cold blood? Did he heckers. Shame on Scotland for spitting on his victim’s graves. This is a shame that Scotland will carry on her shoulders for a long time.
