Practise what you preach.
21 December, 2010 at 11:15 am #413079Clearing down emails, I came across this…
Socialists accuse capitalists of being selfish.
Yes, capitalists are selfish. We want to get paid for working.
Socialists are even more selfish. They want to get paid because somebody else is working.21 December, 2010 at 11:47 am #413080:shock:  socialists work too Jen ! PLease done fall into the them v us Line of thought.
21 December, 2010 at 11:55 am #413081Very true Rubes, I did a straight copy and paste, maybe I should have edited it:
“Socialists” accuse “capitalists” of being selfish.

“Socialists” are even more selfish. They want to get paid because somebody else is working.I am a socialist at heart yet am branded a capitalist for running my own business. Maybe I have a foot in both camps, or maybe I’m a split personality. Most of those that condemn people like me call themselves socialists but are actually people who have made the active choice not to work and think the world owes them a living… exactly where that living is meant to come from without the workers is a question that is never answered.
And given the content of other threads, this is not a dig at anyone here, merely an observation based on real life.
21 December, 2010 at 1:05 pm #413082Is that what we have to do now Jen? Put a foot note at every post saying it’s nothing to do with anyone here?
Thought for the day:
Type what you want about what you want and leave some paranoia tablets in a bag on the end of each post.
21 December, 2010 at 2:53 pm #413083you can still own a small shop and be a socialist :) It would be different if you owned a branch in every high street, that used slave trade staff and labour. many ” socialists” I know are in the arts and science Department in life.. These include resturant owners, record shop owners and civic “leaders” .
I just dont like the divide and conquer rule..
Socialism means freedom for ALL. And equal oppurtunities. The way i see it is you used the oppurtunities to follow a dream. I have the vibe you love your wee shop, for personal freedom and giving one to one service, thats not around any more. Of course you deserve to earn money !21 December, 2010 at 3:45 pm #413084@jen_jen wrote:
