In the past century many people have assumed that we are shaped by our environment: a blank slate waiting to be inscribed by upbringing and culture, with innate abilities playing little part.

This view denies the heart of our being: human nature. We are prepared for sex, aggression and jealousy – and also love, compassion and reason. Violence is not just a product of society; male and female minds are different; the genes we give our children shape them more than our parenting practices. To acknowledge our nature, Pinker shows, is not to condone inequality or callousness, but ultimately to understand the very foundations of humanity.

For good or ill, your conversation is your advertisement. Every time you open your mouth you let people look into your mind. Pray they see it well clothed

Remember when you point your finger at someone, you have 3 more pointing back at you!

When u are angry , it is all to easy to do something u will regret later. So when at ur most angry, steel yourself to take a deep breath and take no action untill the feeling has passed .
Anger is temporary, but the effects of hasty actions can have ever lasting repercussions…

There are times when we have a devastating shock like the death of someone close to us
and the rest of the world continues to treat us as normal, The discussions about what we are going to have for dinner, or how the weather has been , all seem so unimportant and we just want to scream at people to shut up . Remember what those feelings are like , and try to be more aware today of how other people are feeling . Perhaps someone being quite or off at work are not actually in a bad mood but something is happening in their life , large or small but it is effecting them . Do not always jump to the most convenient conclusion about why people act as they do .
