    was not all at once mrs t, re reading that looks like i did it in a week :) have been being careful and when i was told my cholesterol was sky high i knew i had to get back to it, but a diffferent kinda of diet from the normal weight watchers type thing. im bored with watching what i am eating but its paying off a i feel better than I have done in years, Benecol for breakfast, more fruit and fibre and simvastin with my tea.. i just wish i liked vegetables ! as my sons plate lookes great with all the meditterean Veg etc.
    tonight tea/dinner was an insipid pork chop and 3 baby charlottes LOL.
    In the past month, when i knew i was going on a little break i did it well seriously and managed a stone and a half loss in a month.Im fed up having sore legs, as the extra weight was adding to this.
    back on it with a vengeance.but even on my wee holiday i was being careful.Think its embedded in my head now..no sweeties or crisps for this auld rock chicken :)
    back at doctors next week for bloods to get results.If my cholesterol has not went down i shall eat my way through the nearest Thorntons :)
    I keep walnuts in my handbag for snacking etc. Im just determined to do this.refuse to buy new clothes , and the ones i have are baggy chic :)

    not even having a wee half lager with my whiky n diet coke anymore,, how GOOD is that !!

    pah, back to the insipid white meats and veg i pretend to enjoy.. tough at the top..

    Gosh Ruby and Anc!!! Two strong determined women well done both of you. :shock:

    I have never smoked so thankfully I have managed to avoid that addiction :?

    Food though is an ongoing battle for all of us… I am very strict about what I eat but I have yet to meet a woman who is truly happy with her body image and weight is usually top of the offending list. I know what you mean about insipid white meats and vegetables…. welcome to my world :D except every now and then when I eat a whole bag of Liquorice allsorts… which I can tell you is 620 calories :D

    yup reckon you are right – couple of ol stubborn ‘chicks’ we are lolol well, ‘ish, will explain the ish……….

    Gotta tell ya about my story with cholesterol – had blood test (not for HIV, but can’t remember for what!) – friggin 9.6 – heart attack material – put on diet sheet – fed kids nice supper (the same day) – hubby was so fed up with my face – went and got me f&c!!!! – next morning I rang the docs for an appointment – they said you have one at 9.30! eeeks I thought, better get dressed then………off to docs – she knew I wouldn’t keep to the diet – now, one simvastin at night and I can eat wotever I want – down to 4.5! good eh?!

    Yeah I have read about sastins blah, but if I go out eating what I want, when I want, BRILL!

    Well done you though for losing the weight! :D I don’t have a prob with weight, tis just everything going south! :lol:

    edit – hence the boob job I forgot about! :lol: :lol:

    I think you mean simvastatin…statins are to lower your cholestrol..they are supplements and not substitutes to other methods to lower it.

    You should try to change your diet and exercise as well as taking these drugs..easier said than done i know :D
