i think we have to wait for the real facts to come out,if they ever do.

i hope they find out what happened and make some arrests soonThis poor baby was undoubtedly murdered in cold blood pretty much as soon as it was delivered. (The umbilical cord etc was still attached). Smal comfort I know, but the chances are that its lifespan was measured in minutes at the most – if not in seconds. I am sure that we all hope that its suffering was very limited.
You know Becky, I do agree with you on this. SOMEBODY clearly knows exactly what happened, and SOMEBODY also is fully responsible for striking the blow that crushed the baby’s skull.
I find it hard to believe, given the ‘mechanics’ of childbirth, that the mother was the one that did this terrible deed. That is why I say, and continue to say, we ought not to condemn the mother like this unless and until her culpability can be established. She may have been in some way forced to watch whilst her newborn baby was murdered in front of her. How terrible is that?????????

I do see were you are coming from with this PB i really do, but what i am trying to get at is even if the mother didnt kill her baby and she herself is still alive then she knows something she hide her pregnancy from doctors etc that is a bad thing from the start. So right from day 1 this was the babies destiny or why not register yourself as pregnant? Whichever it is aslong as they catch who did it thats all that matters whoever it is.
24 May, 2006 at 4:16 pm #220733Fair point Becky. But if I may speculate a bit, consider this:
What if the mother’s ethnic or cultural background was such that admitting to her ”family” that she was pregnant – especially if the father wasn’t of her own ethnic background – could have resulted in her being thrown out or even murdered in an ”honour killing”.
What if she was raped by a man and was too ashamed to tell her ”family” or husband that she was pregnant as a result?
I really find it difficult to ”blame” a woman in these curcumstances – especially if she is in fear of her life.
Yes, I know it’s just speculation, but what if it’s true………..???
