As much as I abhore the erosion of our rights emma, I have to say you really do try very hard to sensationalise.
Will they lose the next election? Yes.
Will they withdraw us from the Middle East? NoDemocracy exists only in our minds, in reality we really have no say.
You can be detained for 6 weeks for nothing. 50% of those detained are innocent. Sensational?
How will Labour lose if they detained opposing candidates?
The BNP would bring our troops home to protect us.Do we have a democratic right to vote?
At the moment i’d say our society is about 70% democratic, but by the time the next general election is over, probably 20% at best, and that wont last long.13 June, 2008 at 12:54 pm #269674@sword wrote:

Sir has a point. Its all too easy for non BNPers to call them racist. Wouldn’t be so bad if you supported your claim with concreate evidence? But you can’t, doesn’t exist.

So 50% are guilty? Thats fair enough. It’s like a fishnet, you throw back the ones you don’t want. You make it sound quite appealing now.

If New Labour think you’re a terrorist, you wouldn’t mind living in a prison cell for 6 weeks?
I guess the answer is NO, and i expect 100% of us would say no.
So ladies & gentlemen, why aren’t we out in the streets demanding this bill be abolished?
Well done David Davies. Why is he the only one?
13 June, 2008 at 11:16 pm #269678so basically theyll arrest someone and after 28 days if they think they’re innocent they’ll keep them locked up anyway yeah ?
13 June, 2008 at 11:16 pm #269679Emma, they’ll pay me three grand a day, I want to be taken in!

Not quite. If they think you’re a terrorist or you “pose a threat”, they can stick you in jail for 6 weeks.
If they don’t like you cos you vote tory or you don’t vote for them or you trood on their small toe, they can put you in jail for 6 weeks and claim you pose a threat to national security, and you can’t do a damn thing about it.
Its absolute madness.
