Well as an aside to this, a rather lucrative contract I have with dudley and walsall councils is to refurbish housing for immigrants and assylum seekers
These bedsits all have to have hardwired fire detection, emergency lighting, a brand new and maintained boiler, cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and microwave (shared) and the electrics are usually asked to be renewed even where not necessary
Each room is furnished sparsely with a new bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, new carpets and curtains and has to be freshly decorated
Alongside that I also on occassion do voids and pre habitation electrical inspections for “normal” housing for non immigrants and non assylum seekers
these are handed over with no appliances, no new carpets, no decorating, no fire system, no emergency lighting and no rewires unless the existing wiring is actually unsafe
This has been going on for about 7 or 8 years now, even tho the people having the nice shiney well equiped housing are often used to living in dire conditions and would just be happy with the cess pits we put our indigenous single mums in with their kids
And oddly enough it was introduced by the same government that now claims indigenous people should get priority :shock:
They SHOULD have been getting priority all along, or at the very least the SAME level of housing, but that was too expensive apparently so only freeloaders and assylum seekers could be lavished in such a way

thanks for the post ubermick. ive known for a long time that assylum scroungers and health needy foreigners are treated with new rooms etc as you say, if you tell anyone here in my vilage that this is the case youre called a racist and a liar. ill print the post out and put it up in the bar [if you dont mind of course.]
our local liberal councilor told me i was being a hysterical woman when i had the audacity to ask him why immigrants were treated to such homes and benefits. im grateful for your imput thee thanks again.. :D :D
