I realise this has been shown before….., before anyone says watched it last year etc !!….   but wow   if  i was religious I’d say MY GOD !!!  What a brilliant piece of work !!  and so heart wrenching,  made you cry for those young men , boys in some cases , well hundreds of thousands were boys .   Kids as fodder,,

Brilliant tho , the production,  but very sad  and I just wish as well as having real peoples old interviews, which were heart wrenching and very graphic,.I wish they could have  used voices of people same age as they were, young men, kids, I feel it would have brought  it home how young they actually were.  They were were so brave and scared and babies. having the dubbed voices, which they were, at more the age group , instead of upper class  ( in some cases and using language young people don’t recognise )older voices , veterans who’s testimony is so vital,  may make ppl , as in younger people not appreciate how young they were  at the time, listening to a scared young teenager  ( acting obviously) ..may have put things into perspective more for a younger audience,  how, brave and scared they were.

Brilliant piece of film making tho, considering the constraints  :good:   :good:

Not watching it..title alone represents what I think of when I think of our military as well. Youth newly enlisted.. trained..off to war..life so short…
