Somer, you won’t listen to me, but why not direct your comment at Mr Harp?
He’s actually going to the refugee camps in a few weeks – a throughly admirable action in my view – and I’m sure he can give a far better answer than I could if asked

Are you being sarcastic?? where did Harp say he was going to the camps. I seen on an other thread you saying the same – “he must be special as not just anyone gets flown out for a few days” – or something to that effect. – where did he post this??
1 October, 2015 at 11:32 am #528468the quote is from 25th September, p.7 of the freaky thread.
I immediately apologised and grovelled, but – he regarded me with total contempt as a troll and a scary little man.
In the face of such a dedicated and important personage as Mr Harp, I can only bow my head in utter shame.
This is the quote:

funny ye should say that, Mr Harp.
You came in here proclaiming your intellectual and moral superiority, decided I was Kingpin and set about taking me down, realised I wasn’t kingpin and decided Trappers was kingpin and started taking him down.
You demanded that the UK take more refugees (for a while I had hope of someone who was on the Left), then went totally quiet on the issue when real debate was taking place, and now start making cheap points about the person who is making the case for refugee admission.
Why not take on the issue?
Is it because you care more about being kingpin here than taking a serious stand on anything??
Sorry, but I don’t think you’re going to make it. Lucy and Trapper make serious points, but I actually don’t think you are a very serious person at all.
To be fair Mr Septic, you pretend to be “passionate” merely so you can hide your various insults behind that clearly fake “passion.” Let’s not beat about the bush here. “oh i’m sorry I am really passionate about this subject.”
As for “Kingpin” I have no idea what goes on in that hollow head and I don’t really care. You are clearly paranoid. In fact more than paranoid. You are a very scary little man.
You and those like you, are the reason why only you and those like you, now post on these boards. three or four of you. You and those like you have driven everyone else away.
Lastly but not least, I am flying out to one of the largest refugee camps in a few weeks, for a 3 day stint. While you sit on here waffling on it, feigning mock outrage, there are those of us out there actually doing it.
You are a troll, nothing more nothing less.
1 October, 2015 at 11:39 am #528469of course, he may have been flown out early, with the latest crisis in Syria.
If so, we must all pray and hope that the Russians haven’t kidnapped him and dropped him on one of the IS areas they claim to be attacking.
If they have, it will be a tragic waste of young life as the areas aren’t actually IS
1 October, 2015 at 11:47 am #528470haha lovely, yep he’s trying to flounce across the road too.
Harp calls everyone a troll but clearly does not see what he types – aw well.
1 October, 2015 at 4:09 pm #528471I’ve heard tell how 2000 of them migrants are coming to the most densely populated city in the country
1 October, 2015 at 4:38 pm #5284722,000 in London??
Well, that may well change the character of the city!! lol
The best of it is that British policy in Syria continues to cause more refugees. The best way to end the war, so the thnking goes, is to arm one side and overthrow Assad (not a very nice man, by all accounts). Most of the arms from the US and UK gets funnelled into al-quaeda, who are a bit scared of ISIS. The Russians are now bombing away happily to keep Assad in power (and to put pressure n the yanks to stop hurting them over Ukraine!), so the war looks set to go on and on, with more and more refugees. Poor sods.
Add in the Kurds and the Turks, plus the interests of Saudi Arabia and its hated enemy, Iran, and you get a right merry ding-dong. No wonder 11 million people are displaced, and up to 300,000 killed.
So, Trapper, your sensible idea of a big army to wipe the radicals out isn’t really working.
Which leaves the rest of us with the problem of legal and moral obligations to deal with the refugees. Throw them out and they’ll keep coming back. They risk death to get away from Syria and the camps.
There is something called humanitarian feelings, such as those which move Mr Harp.
With Harp heading for the camps (specially flown out for 3 days) to help, will this make the situation worse???!!!
1 October, 2015 at 5:00 pm #528473No the most densely populated city… Portsmouth
4 October, 2015 at 10:01 am #528474I don’t know where they’ll be put, nor does anyone else. But 2000 is nothing anywhere.
