It depends on the international response.
If Britain can help, instead of bombing and invading, then the EU can develop a response of eventual resettlement.
That does mean Britain doing something more in the EU than whining about immigrants.
At the moment, would you go back to a region where children are used as suicide bombers, and are involved in the beheadings?

You must know this too Scep..infact once they become settled here or another country….the children are in school etc…they will not want to go back
If there were people who were wealthy in Syria…had businesses etc…that wont be there if they decide to go back in say 5 years….many will have children by that time born here…those children will find it hard to live in Syria
Having said that I have no issues with the above whatsoeverThe whole world would like this war to stop….yet the whole world cannot make it go away
We’ll take 20,000 of them I’m sure we can afford it out of the money saved scrapping free school meals for infants.
Where they gonna live ? I wasn’t aware landlords and council/housing associations had spare housing, surely there’s a lack of it, is the government picking up the rent tab ? Tell that to our homeless.

There is that all important statement !!! International not just bung em all into Germany & the UK.
It’s not a case of whinging about the immigrants scep .
Suicide bombers & beheading have been going on for years this isn’t exclusive to the Syrians.
This “oh the poor kids attitude” is designed to pull at heart strings because NO ONE likes to see kids suffering anywhere in the world.
Take Ethiopia in the 80’s – Band aid raised millions to help them REBUILD their own country not bring them out & support them.
The only difference here is the violence & the terror of death the Syrians have … so if they are worried enough to flee shouldn’t we be worried enough about the potential threat of some of the phsyco’s being let in in the process of trying to help?
There are already thousands of illegal immigrants political or otherwise overstayed as it is in the UK.
They won’t go back why on earth would they? Housed , free healthcare , benefits , schooling
etc etc.I have a heart & compassion in bucketful’s BUT why is the UK EXPECTED to solve the worlds plights?
Dont think Sceppy poohs is saying we alone should solve their problem….he is saying we have helped cause this war but not willing to help the victims of it with the same attitude we bulldozed into it
Saw an interview with a Syrian guy other day….he was studying medical something at University there….when asked if he would go back he said “of course..it is my country…why wouldnt I want to”
He was young man…passionate….he may well believe this is what he will do in the future…truth is that country will need decades to rebuild…that is after the war has ended..which willl be no time soon…that young man will probably go to univesity here and finish his education and even start practicing medicine by the time there is any normality stored back into his homeland
We all know these points…I am probably just as bad as anyone else..harping on about the solutions…the idealistic ways things should happen…but I do nothing about it…exept post on these boards my 2 penneth worth

The simple answer is there is NO simple answer to the problems.
We all post our tuppence worth that’s what makes it interesting sharing ideas & opinion.
In an ideal world & all that but sadly we don’t live in an ideal world. :)
If people actually learned from history that you can’t hold an empire..power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely..don’t even know why we need strategic influence, we don’t interfere for humanitarian reasons just strategic and economic

Nope… I refuse to hold a whole country/faith/culture responsible and fear them because a small percentage behave the way they do!

Dont mean to sound biased but if some Country took over yours, raped the women and children, sent the rest to a Country down under – wouldn’t you bomb the fuck out of them too??
Before the IRA was set up, it was the British bombing the south of Ireland – all that was found of my cousin was his thumb, when they blew up his car in Dublin.
I see your point about not blaming a whole Country but i believe Scep is typing with his heart and not his head.
He keeps going on about the children – what about the children already here?
What about the homeless thats already here??
What about the lack of resources we have yet all of a sudden the Governments can pull thousands of pounds out of thin air for NON SCANNED foreigners.But the hatred can only continue from adults teaching it to children, kids are born kids they don’t care what religion, colour, creed they or others are.
