See I’d say religion is just the excuse it’s man thats the problem, without religion there’d be something else
31 August, 2015 at 5:18 pm #528436my Grandson just posted this on his news feed on faceache.
its so simple i had to share it here.
“Free the world, not by taking men’s lives, but by taking their tongues… The only way we can unite as one. “
not sure whether its his own words or pasted from somewhere but……… makes sense to me!
as for the photos Lucy, yes i agree depends which you look at, but i will just say this, even the most placid dog backed into a corner will eventually bite, some are fighting for their lives against the religious killings
31 August, 2015 at 6:13 pm #528437Maybe we should arm them so they can actually fight

Agreed but it seems to be historically behind most of the worlds fights.
19 September, 2015 at 5:57 pm #528439Why do the majority of the refugees seem to be male

what’s your source for that??
I’ve been away form the news for a bit now, and a lo’ts happened, but I’m catching up, and the news I’ve seen indicates that the refugees are a mixed bag of men, women and children, mainly form Syria and Libya, but also from countries such as Sudan.
19 September, 2015 at 6:21 pm #528441Whatever pictures from whatever news source I’ve seen from the borders of wherever they’re trying to cross from
19 September, 2015 at 6:27 pm #528442then all I can say is that I’ve seen different pictures. Kids are being pushed to the fore to get through. People are desperate, and that includes male people. There’s a very nasty war on, whihc is why a milare expected to flee.
It’s a real crisis, and Germany (and Sweden) are the best destinations.
But the crisis is so big that even Germany, the most humane of the European countries wiht regard to refugees, has been forced to close its borders temporarily because the border receptions have been submerged by people.
This number of people is bound to include some economic migrants, but it’s a much bigger number of refugees than has ever happened before – you have to go back to 1945-46 for a similar crisis to hit Europe.
No one country can deal with it, and a Europe-wide response based on fairness has to be followed – the UK should take part in that response, setting aside the inhuman reputation it’s getting (we are at the very least the partial cause of it all!).
19 September, 2015 at 6:32 pm #528443And none of them are IS terrorists ?
19 September, 2015 at 6:36 pm #528444Prime Minister David Cameron has called on other EU countries to follow Britain’s lead by funding refugee camps in countries neighbouring Syria.
Speaking during a visit to Lebanon and Jordan, he said a failure to boost spending for such camps would mean many more people would try to reach Europe.
Mr Cameron said the UK had given £1bn in aid and urged “others to step up”.
It comes a week after the UK said it would resettle 20,000 Syrian refugees over the next five years. -
